Building Australia’s future. 🇦🇺 Prime Minister of Australia. Grayndler MP. Authorised by Anthony Albanese, ALP, Canberra.

We've introduced new laws requiring streaming services to make Australian content. More Australian stories on our screens. More jobs in our local film and TV industry. It's a bit of common sense.

Yes - this will solve the housing crisis, fix the NDIS, Aged Care, stabilise education and the construction sector. Honestly - why would you even be thinking about a sector that employes less than 1% of the workforce at such a critical time. Forced quotas on streaming services is going to solve nothing. It’s a solution to a problem that does not exist.

Well, let’s start by taxing them. “Global streaming giant Netflix paid no tax on $1.2 billion of revenue from its Australian operations in 2023-24, according to the Australian Tax Office in its annual release of the taxes paid by the country’s biggest corporations.” Source : https://www.afr.com/policy/economy/corporate-tax-who-pays-nothing-and-which-industry-is-hit-hardest-20251001-p5mz9n

How can we make them pay taxes or at least a fee to use our NBN. Apparently streaming services use more bandwidth than the Government etc.. goodness we paid dearly to set up broadband as a national service and we pay use it..

Australia is a proudly multicultural nation, shaped by the countless cultures, traditions, and experiences brought here by immigrants from all over the world. Each wave of migration has added its own unique colours to the Australian story — from language and art to festivals, beliefs, and cuisine. Today, we enjoy food, music, and customs from an incredible variety of backgrounds, often without stopping to think about the rich histories behind them. Perhaps now is the perfect time to celebrate not just the flavours and festivities, but also the personal stories that make up this diverse cultural mosaic. By sharing the journeys, challenges, and triumphs of people from different backgrounds on an Australian platform, we can deepen our understanding of one another and continue building a more connected and inclusive nation.

It’s a win-win audiences get authentic local stories, and the industry gains more opportunities for creators, actors, and crews. Supporting homegrown content not only strengthens culture but also builds a sustainable ecosystem for talent and production in Australia. Anthony Albanese
