Happy to share Anita’s post here. Anita has always been passionate about learning of team members whom she works with, put in so much effort and thoughts in helping others to excel and be better at their work. The programme she talked about continues the same theme - helping team members to get ready and be better at their work in the new & fast-changing digital era, but this time is different. We are getting personal. Yes, we are talking about personal growth, but more importantly, it is about achieving the seemingly un-achievable, breaking own limits, believing in themselves and the power of mutual support. Kudos to our colleagues in the L&D team for making this happen, salute to the participants who have proved that this is all worth it, you have made yourself and your family proud. Thanks Man for your passionate sharing yesterday, you brought tears to the audience (including myself), your story touched the hearts of many. The best way to illustrate the true meaning of people development. So proud to be part of this journey!!

Senior Learning and Development Manager at DFI Retail Group

A memorable moment in 2025 - The true meaning of people development Yesterday marked an important milestone in my career. I had the privilege of representing DFI at the HKMA Award For Excellence in Training and Development 2025, where we were one of the 10 finalists. I’ll admit I was nervous—not about the outcome (to be announced in Sep) but about ensuring I could best support my partner, Man, our local 7-Eleven Frontline Operations Manager who has low confidence in English speaking. The format is a 20‑minute presentation in English, followed by a 10‑minute Q&A with a panel of accomplished business leaders and more than 400 guests from different industries. I invited Man to co-present because I have trusted her from the day we met. Over her 20 years with the brand—and our three years working closely together—she has consistently met challenges with dedication and resilience. Through rigorous preparation, she delivered outstandingly to share her story in DFI till the time to acquire a QF Level 6 qualification. To get her memorable for this presentation, I arranged a small on‑stage surprise. It moved her to tears—and, unexpectedly, me and some audience as well. That moment reaffirmed a core belief: people development is not only about programs, metrics, and processes. It is also deeply human. At times, allowing ourselves to be emotional is appropriate and necessary, because we work with people, not just roles. When we invest in our team members, we don’t just improve performance—we help create meaningful life moments and new possibilities. Thank you, Man, for your partnership and courage. You continue to inspire me. #createpossibilitieseveryday
