At Alight, we love when solar energy does more than one kind of good. One example is our collaboration with sheep farmer Jesper Sundgren from Tormarps Fårfarm, where we combine energy production with agriculture - called agrivoltaics. Jesper's flock have been grazing across our solar park in Halmstad, Sweden between May and October. As winter approaches, it’s time to bring the sheep back home after an season outdoors doing an incredible job keeping the vegetation in perfect shape - while the solar parks have provided them with shade and rich pasture in return. In 2026, Jesper aims to scale up from today’s 130 sheep to more than 1,000, contributing even further enhance biodiversity and sustainable vegetation management in Sweden’s solar parks. Partnerships like this are living examples of how renewable energy and agriculture can truly work hand in hand – optimizing land use by producing both clean power and natural grazing value. A win-win! Thanks Jesper and our wooly friends for a brilliant partnership and a fantastic season! 🌞🐏
