ALLEA and Science Europe look forward to hosting experts to discuss the falsity of pitting Academic Freedom against Research Security in a session titled, Not a trade-off: Integrating Academic Freedom and Research Security. The session will debate the idea that these two principles rather than being in conflict, are mutually reinforcing: effective research security measures should protect the very freedoms on which high-quality science depends, while academic freedom creates the conditions for secure, trustworthy research to flourish.
