Why We Create FHIR Profiles FHIR gives us flexibility, and that’s both its greatest strength and biggest challenge. Without some structure, two systems might interpret the same resource (say, Patient or Observation) differently. That’s where profiles come in. A FHIR profile defines how a resource should be used in a specific context, adding constraints, extensions, or business rules to ensure consistency. Here’s why they matter: 1. Clear communication: Profiles help teams and organizations agree on what’s expected and how data should look. 2. Automatic validation: Systems can instantly check if data conforms to an agreed standard. 3. Code generation & runtime logic: Profiles can power auto-generated forms, validation tools, and APIs that “know” what to expect. 4. Ecosystem alignment: They allow publish/subscribe discovery — systems can easily find others that support the same profile. 5. Conformance & trust: Profiles make interoperability measurable and enforceable. In short, profiles bring order to FHIR’s flexibility, turning a global standard into real-world interoperability. #FHIR #HealthIT #Interoperability #HealthInformatics #DigitalHealth #HL7 #FHIRProfiles #HealthcareTechnology

Patient Portals Are Not Just Software — They’re Trust Platforms If data is the new oil, then trust is the new currency in healthcare. A great patient portal isn’t just secure — it’s transparent. It tells patients: “Your data belongs to you.” “Your privacy is respected.” “Your voice matters.” Whether powered by FHIR, OpenID Connect, or OAuth2, the real success metric isn’t MAU or API calls. It’s the trust quotient — how confidently patients engage with their digital health journey. Because in healthcare, trust drives adoption, and adoption drives outcomes. #DigitalTrust #PatientCentricCare #HealthTech #HealthcareLeadership #FHIR

A good overview of SMART on #FHIR. This article clearly explains how this framework combines FHIR (REST APIs and modular resources) with the SMART protocol (OAuth 2.0 and launch contexts) to enable secure access to clinical data for third-party applications. https://hubs.ly/Q03P1tV80

FHIR validation isn’t about passing rules or fixing schemas. It’s about building trust – between systems, teams, and ultimately between healthcare providers and patients. Behind every invalid resource lies a signal: a missing value, a wrong code, a misinterpreted structure. Each one tells a story about how information travels through complex healthcare systems — and how fragile that journey can be. When we validate data, we validate communication, interpretation, and intent. We validate whether systems understand each other — and whether we can safely make decisions based on what they say. That’s why validation isn’t just a technical step. It’s a foundation for trust in digital health. #FHIR #DataQuality #Interoperability #HealthIT #MedVertical

Leverage a lightweight "agent layer" to handle prior authorization and claim status without disrupting your existing system. Deploy containerized edge agents to provider/payor locations, enabling local inference and encrypted gradient/metric collection. Send differential privacy (DP) or secure aggregated model updates to a central aggregator for Federated Averaging (FedAvg), keeping sensitive patient health information (PHI) on-premise. #FederatedLearning #EdgeAI #HIPAA #HealthcareAI #MLOps #DataPrivacy #AIInfrastructure #brainsty https://lnkd.in/eV7zHSet
