My first admin job was as a VA, but it took me 5 years to start my own business as one. I started my admin career at Time Etc | Virtual Assistants etc working as a VA in a high-pressure environment. I always say it was basically a crash course in how to be a VA. I then moved to a Marketing Agency role as an EA, followed by a Recruitment Agency role as an Operations and Marketing Manager. I went full time, self employed as a VA again in 2019. The wonderful thing about being a VA is no two journeys are the same, but I truly believe the in house admin roles I did gave me the confidence, skills and motivation to work as a VA and VA mentor under my own business. It also showed me what not to do. It helped me to identify some of the mistakes so I didn’t have to make all of them for myself. And now I mentor others to ensure they don’t have to either. It’s a real full-circle moment 🫶🏻 Pic from Time Etc Halloween 2013 😂 (miss you guys)
