UROMAC presents its hybrid Clean-Drive 4.0 self-propelled railcar The Spanish company has prepared the video especially for the IREE 2025 international railway exhibition, which is going to open in Delhi. The machine can be used for the maintenance of catenary and repair of infrastructure. Its compact size, 2.3 m in width and 3.3 m in height, provides for performing operations on metro and tram tracks and in narrow tunnels. Mainly powered by batteries, the Clean-Drive 4.0 has a modular design, which allows for altering traction drives according to a customer’s needs. The railcar is fitted with a crane, a cabin for up to six workers and a maintenance platform, supplied as part of the basic configuration. The INT‑53 lithium-ion batteries from Leclanché SA, Switzerland, are reported to ensure six hours of continuous operation. The railcar features a power capacity of 212 kW and a maximum speed of 50 km/h. Uromac is currently implementing a contract for the delivery of 24 such vehicles to the Madrid metro.
