This week I was excited over the press release of me becoming Chair of Skills and Education Group Awards and BIIAB. I hope to bring a lot of my knowledge of awarding and qualifications, but also be an effective chair (to quote Association of Chairs). Three years ago, I would not have even considered applying, but a lot has happened. I have been fortunate to work with some Chairs who have had an impact on my development. Firstly, Peter Bonfield who was chair of IOSH. You gave me a huge confidence boost to say what I think and not sit back. Then there is Charles Traylen – what a busy time it has been at Carers' Support East Kent and what a great time it has been. Lastly, there is Joe Saxton who as well as chairing Association of Chairs, has an interesting Blog on his website heyheyjoe.co.uk. Never stop learning, but also, the power to watching others!
Congratulations, Anthony Blackman. I’m excited to work with you.
