Transition pieces connect the turbine towers to their foundations, ensuring the stability of the entire structure. The installation process begins at the marshalling port, where the transition pieces are prepared for transport. The structures are loaded onto the deck of a specialist installation vessel and securely fastened for the journey offshore. Each time, we can accommodate several transition pieces at once. Upon arrival at the already installed monopile foundation, the vessel positions itself precisely using an advanced dynamic positioning system. This technology allows the ship to maintain a stable position even in challenging weather conditions and rough seas. Heavy lift cranes then hoist the transition piece from the deck and place it onto the foundation, aligning and calibrating all the technical interfaces with precision.
