🥂 Cheers! We are super proud that our research on #imagineering and #deimagineering in the context of #AI for #SMEs has come out with one of our favourite publications outlets. In our paper, we explore AI value claims in Danish SMEs, revealing that these claims often mask a range of meanings—from societal benefits to cost savings. By introducing the concept of "de-imagineering," we aim to clarify the often ambiguous discussions about AI's impact and who truly benefits from its adoption. In going forward with implementation we propose finding ways of unmasking the variety of meanings in the sentence "AI creates value" to be able to strategise around hidden costs. This clearly is a task for management, and for politicians, too. We invite you to read our analysis, findings and contribution to #anthropological theory and share your thoughts! 2moI only read the abstract and the conclusion, but I really like some of the ideas in this paper. In my opinion, if you simplify just a few of your most provocative findings, you can easily reach the headlines of the Danish national newspapers. And that would be a very welcome input to the discussion about the use of AI. "[The] Strategy [of the Danish State] equates private profit with public good [...] This is [...] a redirection of tax-payer money towards global technology corporations". That is spot on! I also very much like the idea that expensive consultants use "imagineering" in order to convince SMEs to use money on hyped technologies that do not at all help theses SMEs with their practical everyday problems (if I understand you correctly?).
