There was a time when IT’s main job was simple: keep the lights on and don’t break anything. As Gertrude Van Horn shared in our latest Tech Leaders Untold Podcast, that era is long gone. “We were a necessity. We weren’t the lifeblood of the organization. But that’s how it has changed. Technology is now the lifeblood of the organization.” Trude is the SVP and CIO at Cien.ai and former CIO at NCH Corporation. She's seen numerous evolutions of technology. The CIO’s role has shifted from maintaining systems to driving growth, innovation, and cost optimization across the business. The speed of change is relentless but so are the opportunities. The organizations that thrive are the ones where technology leads, not lags. I had a great chat with Aly Khan Musani from Symend on the latest 🎙️ What The Tech 🎙️ podcast where we chatted about "playing to our strengths" to succeed in the tech and innovation space. I think this point from our chat summarizes what makes Boast so special (and why I get to chat with so many great tech leaders): 🚀 We let technologists and entrepreneurs stay in their lane and focus on innovation, not tax hurdles! Let experts like Boast handle the tax intricacies while you drive R&D and strategic growth. We bridge the divide between tax 'wonks' and tech geeks and have helped hundreds of companies claim more than $600million in the process. Check out the full interview and insights from Aly here: https://lnkd.in/euVPP3FT #tech #podcast #entrepreneurship

I sat down with Deepu last week, member of our #TechOrg to unpack the concept of #Agent #ControlPlane, here's a snippet. One insight that stood out - Will you seek evidence with an Agent? Absolutely. Just like humans don’t make decisions in a vacuum, agents need to collect and map evidence before taking action. The key question is: how do you do it? It starts with designing the agent’s #evidencestrategy, defining what data points, sources, and interactions count as valid. Then, layer in #transparency mechanisms so stakeholders can see where evidence comes from, how it’s evaluated, and why it matters for decisions. In the enterprise, these aren’t optional, they’re non-negotiables for #agentadoption - building for #intent #partnership between humans and agents. 🎙️ Full podcast of my conversation with deepu mp is coming soon, stay tuned! #agenticai #podcast #trustedai #agenteval #unifiedobservability #Neudesic

Interesting HBR podcast on how platforms decay over time just taught me the beautiful term “enshittification”. (Link in comment) It finally gave me a name for something I’ve felt for years: you fall in love with a product or service, then it shifts focus to business clients, and eventually to shareholders and profits over end users. It’s obvious in big tech, but it’s not limited to tech. You see similar patterns in the economy in general — even in restaurants: First you find that hidden gem, then they get popular, raise prices, and at some point the quality is gone and disappointment becomes standard. Drastic name for a pattern that seems hard to avoid. Better to factor it in than act surprised.

The number 1 reason tech founders fail: Working with a toxic co-founder, instead of a partner. A toxic co-founder will: → Drain your energy → Put you down → Blame others for problems → Claim victories → Spread gossip → Focus only on money → Micromanage The result? Low-performing product and morale This can cost you the business and your health. Do this instead. Hire someone who: → Supports you → Owns their sh*t → Can take feedback → Brings good energy → Has complementary skills → Is motivated from within That’s how you get ahead of 99% of tech businesses. That’s exactly what we are talking about on Building Great Tech episode ”How to Repair a Toxic Working Relationship” 🎙️ Search “Building Great Tech” on your favourite platform: Spotify, YouTube or Apple Podcasts for our latest episode.
