Chan Zuckerberg Initiative’s Post

When my mom was a teenager, my grandparents made the unimaginable decision to send her on a boat across the South China Sea, guided by their faith that a better life was waiting on the other side. It might sound hard to believe, but I think about that act of courage nearly every day — and how it inspires me to build a better future for others through science. To me, innovation in science means giving brilliant minds the tools and freedom to explore the unknown — and translating discovery into hope. I’m so proud to lead Chan Zuckerberg Initiative and thrilled to see our groundbreaking science recognized by The Wall Street Journal Magazine.
