I’ve had the pleasure of visiting the UAE many times throughout my career – and what has always stood out for me here is the pace of progress. In a relatively short time span the country has become a leading voice on how the world will power its future. ADIPEC Exhibition and Conference captures that spirit. In his opening remarks Dr. Sultan Al Jaber outlined a pragmatic approach: optimize today’s energy system, attract capital at scale and advance technology to fast-track progress. To say it in his words ‘You cannot run tomorrow’s world on yesterday’s infrastructure.’ That resonates. At Siemens Energy our technologies help deliver around 40% of the UAE’s electricity and 75% of its water supply. One of our four global innovation centers is based here and with about 4,000 colleagues in the region we’re investing for the long term – from grid infrastructure and plant modernization to hydrogen-ready gas turbines, digital service solutions and more. To our customers and partners here – thank you for your trust and collaboration. I also appreciated the way you challenged energy-transition “buzzwords”; without real projects and investment they stay fashionable, not impactful.
