Wanted: 15’000 signatures for a climate policy that reduces emissions here in Switzerland! After rallying their community to make the 1400 Swiss glaciers visible, Protect Our Winters Switzerland is going a step further with their campaign "1400 reasons to act". They launched a petition to the Federal Council for effective climate protection as a reaction to the record-high glacier ice losses. Over the past 25 years, more than 40% of Swiss glacier ice has disappeared. The demand is: 🌍 Emissions created in Switzerland must be reduced in Switzerland. We support this initiative because it connects climate action with policy making through community-driven activism, actionable demands and the courage to hold decision-makers accountable.
