Here are my key takeaways: 💰 Institutional capital continues to flow into the sports industry, with investors announcing formation or completing fundraising – including Buss Sports Capital and Avenue Sports Fund. 🏎️ Motorsport remains a magnet for investor interest across a diverse range of properties in the space, with interest levels rising in MotoGP following Liberty Media’s acquisition. 🏈 The trend of minority investments in sport remains strong – particularly in the NFL, where institutional capital continues to play an expanding role in the sport. ⚽ Women’s football continues to attract investment, with 3 deals completed in September – including Bristol City Women’s acquisition by Mercury 13, forming a new multi-club ownership group in the women’s game. 🏆 The USL is gaining momentum, securing institutional capital from BellTower Partners as it seeks to execute its strategy to rival the MLS with the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup in the horizon. Sport Integrity Action Month Kicks Off in Brazil The Sport Integrity Global Alliance (SIGA), through SIGA LATIN AMERICA, is officially launching the Sport Integrity Action Month with a special Opening Session at Sports Summit São Paulo 2025, marking the beginning of an unprecedented international mobilisation for Sport Integrity. Among the programme highlights, on 1 November, SIGA Latin America will host the International Expert Summit on Sports Betting Integrity, as part of Sports Summit São Paulo 2025. The Summit will gather renowned experts to debate one of the most pressing issues of our time: the regulated sports betting market, its challenges and opportunities, addressing manipulation, criminal infiltration, corruption, money laundering, responsible advertising, protection of youth and vulnerable groups, and international cooperation. Now, the focus has shifted to value creation: how engagement, trust and emotional connection drive commercial return. We’re seeing that shift play out across the Women's Super League Football: 🤝 Barclays’ long-term partnership continues to set the standard for consistency and credibility. It’s no longer just a sponsorship; it’s a case study in brand equity built through sustained commitment. 🎥 Sky Sports has refined the matchday experience with multiview, enabling fans to watch up to four matches simultaneously on one screen. Additionally, Sky Sports has included broadcast rights for the WSL players, allowing them to share match footage on their social channels for the first time. 👥 Clubs are investing in owned media to grow their fanbase, build stronger community relationships and capture audience data. Sport’s true value can’t be captured by registration numbers alone. In sport, what gets measured gets managed. For many federations and governing bodies, the challenge isn’t participation. It’s proving the impact of participation. Registrations and membership numbers tell part of the story. But what about the bigger picture? • How sport contributes to healthier communities • How grassroots programs drive long-term engagement • How participation fuels economic and social growth Leaders across sport know these outcomes matter, but the data to measure them isn’t always easy to access.
