📣📣Manifesto Value: Doing over Saying 📣📣 The coworking movement has always been built by doers — communities and spaces that value experimentation, trying new formats, and learning by action, rather than focusing on just talk. In coworking, true impact happens when someone says “Let’s try this” and then goes ahead and does it — launching a pilot project, rearranging space for a different kind of event, or designing a collaboration across regions. Research supports this orientation. A cross-cultural study found that individuals with stronger “action orientation” (i.e. the capacity to initiate and persist in actions) displayed significantly greater well-being and more effective goal-enactment across Germany, New Zealand and Bangladesh (Chatterjee, Baumann & Osborne 2018, https://lnkd.in/efrb7nwD). Meanwhile, a major review of workplace motivation highlights that proactive effort — working with others, for others, through others — fosters motivation and sustained performance (Grant & Shandell 2022, https://lnkd.in/eZmGfcHF). And in the domain of job search, researchers found that action-state orientation moderated how intentions became actual behaviour: those more action-oriented were more likely to translate intention into doing (Song et al. 2006, https://lnkd.in/ek-AFMAq). For the Swiss coworking scene, our commitment to “doing over saying” means more than talk: it means piloting a new event format, co-hosting a cross-space workshop, or simply rearranging collaboration zones to spark something new. Each action signals movement. Each experiment opens learning. Each idea executed brings us closer to the future of work. 👉 What is one small action your space (or you as a member) could take this week to embody “doing over saying”? Share it or keep it in motion. 🚀 #CoworkingSwitzerland #CoworkingManifesto #ActionOverWords #FutureOfWork #CoworkingCulture #CommunityDriven

📣📣Manifesto Value: Participation of Observation 📣📣 In coworking, showing up isn’t enough, what really transforms a space into a thriving community is active participation. Spaces where members take part in events, share ideas, contribute feedback or collaborate with others are far more than shared desks: they become engines of creativity, connection, and belonging. 🤝 Research underlines this clearly: 71 % of coworking members report that they interact and network with others in their space, and 64 % say they have made valuable professional connections through those in-person interactions (Coworks 2023, https://lnkd.in/ex5BabXs). Meanwhile, 84 % of coworkers say they feel more motivated and engaged at work in a coworking environment compared to working alone. (TeamStage 2024, https://lnkd.in/gS5MKGZg). These numbers show that participation doesn’t just feel good; it measurably boosts satisfaction, engagement, and outcomes. 📈 For coworking spaces in Switzerland, this means there’s real value in designing for participation: hosting micro-events, encouraging feedback, creating informal spaces for conversation, or even starting community boards where ideas can be shared. When members are encouraged to contribute everyone benefits: better morale, stronger connections, and higher retention. 👉 If you lead a space, work in one, or just care about how we can build stronger coworking ecosystems: what’s one small way you’ve seen participation change the experience in your space? 🔎 Why people thrive in Coworking spaces? First, unlike a traditional office, coworking spaces consist of members who work for a range of different companies, ventures, and projects. it’s not simply the case that a person is going to work; they’re also part of a social movement.

📣📣 Manifesto Value: Flexibility over Rigid Structure📣📣 In coworking, flexibility isn’t just about where we work — it’s about how we think, connect, and create. The best coworking communities evolve with their members: they adapt to new rhythms, ideas, and possibilities rather than staying fixed within a single format. Studies show that flexible and hybrid work models now account for over 28 % of full-time employees, and employees in flexible environments report higher satisfaction, engagement, and productivity (OfficeRnD 2024; BLS 2023). Flexibility has become one of the most valued aspects of modern work, with 83 % of workers stating it as their ideal work model (Slack Future Forum Pulse 2023). These findings affirm what coworking has practiced for years — that adaptability fuels both innovation and well-being. That’s why our Coworking Day on a Train 2025 is more than just an event; it’s a moving symbol of this manifesto value in action. As we gather on the tracks this November 26th, we’ll embody what it means to work without walls: blending motion, connection, and creativity into one shared journey. 🚆 Flexibility over rigid structure means reimagining what a workspace can be — and remembering that sometimes the best ideas happen when everything else is in motion. 💡 Why More People Are Choosing Coworking Over Working From Home Across the UK, more people are leaving the home office for coworking spaces. It’s not just about Wi-Fi or coffee — it’s about connection, structure, and wellbeing. After years of remote work, many have realised that isolation limits creativity, focus, and growth. Coworking spaces now offer more than desks — they’re communities that inspire productivity, collaboration, and belonging. They give people a reason to show up and thrive alongside others. As hybrid work becomes the norm, these shared environments are redefining what it means to “go to work.” The future isn’t about where we work — it’s about how connected we feel while doing it. That’s exactly why we’re building Atelier Spaces — to help people discover inspiring, affordable, and community-driven workspaces across the UK. #Coworking #FutureOfWork #Community #HybridWork #Entrepreneurship #UKBusiness

Everyone says a successful coworking space is all about location, perks, and polished branding. Well, I think they’re wrong… After 5+ years of running 3 spaces and welcoming 1500+ members, I’ve learned that what keeps people coming back has nothing to do with the beanbags or barista coffee. It’s this: 1. Real humans, not just receptionists: People don’t stay for swivel chairs and the coffee syrups. They stay where they feel seen. Hire (or be) someone who knows names, makes introductions, and creates a “hey, I’ve got you” kind of vibe. 2. Mini moments > mega events: You don’t need to host a summit to build culture. You need a “how was your weekend?”, shared snacks, group chats, casual conversations about plans, and community rituals people look forward to. 3. Storytelling that connects: Don’t just post pictures of your hot desks. Tell the story of the community…the wins, the people, the behind-the-scenes moments that make your space magnetic. ✨ The best coworking spaces aren’t perfect, instead they’re personal. I’m currently building a new online community for indie coworking founders and community managers who want to do this differently, with less corporate and more connection. If you already have, you’re building (or dreaming of building) a space that feels human-first, I’d love to connect. #coworking #communitystrategy #coworkingspace #coworkingfounder #remoteworkculture #connectionfirst #communityledbusiness #communitybuilding

Since we at betahaus have been working on the perfect office environment for quiet some time, I like to share 3 things I’d absolutely want in my office If I would be starting a company today: We believe ( and everyone knows) that an office is so much more than desks and wi-fi. It should be the place where energy is created, where culture comes alive, and where the small daily moments build into something much bigger. Here’s what I would prioritize if I was setting up my companies HQ today: 1️⃣ Ideas are cheap, network is key. Focus on a workspace with a great community. This will help you test your product or service, gain feedback and win new customers. 2️⃣ Remote work is great, but the magic happens when teams are frequently meeting in real life. To make this experience hustle-free make sure your workplace is central located and has a lot of additional offerings close by (Sport, Food etc.) to make the commute even more reasonable. 3️⃣ Studies show that founders spend more than 20% of their work time on organizational or administrational tasks. This is why you shall choose fully-serviced workspaces like betahaus to invest your valuable time into what really drives your business. Of course, an office evolves with the people inside it. But starting with these 3 things would already set the tone for how we want to build, work, and grow. 👉 Curious: what’s the one thing you must have in or around your office for your team to thrive? betahaus, betahausX, betahaus Romania, betahaus Bulgaria | coworking solutions, betahaus Hamburg, betahaus | Barcelona , Madeleine Gummer v.
