Before the AI Action Summit, we also had the opportunity to attend a two-day event organized by the French Ministry of Culture: "AI Cultural Weekend: Culture and AI, Issues and Perspectives" where several panels showcased some of the positive uses of AI in the heritage and museum sectors. A number of speakers emphasized the need to be guided by ethical, open, equitable, transparent, and collaborative approaches when working at the intersection of emerging technologies and cultural heritage. The digital commons was emphasized as the basis of our efforts not only to preserve and understand our human memory, but also to nourish contemporary creativity.
