Some of the larger ideas we’ve discussed are great, but it will take time to test, justify, deliver and implement. So, if you’re a #metallurgist in an operating mine how can you start moving to #betterclassification. Yes, these suggestions are largely (hydro)cyclone specific. • What is your size setpoint target? How do you measure this? Is it being controlled? Is it important to management (or are tones the main driver)? How can you get it back on track? • Check the stage of the equipment – is it kept in good condition or are the apex and VF worn too much? • How is the control system managing the feed density and pressure to the cyclones, is it controlling how you want it? Are the loops even tunned. • Is liberation ok? Can you do mineralogical samples on the float tails? What isn’t recovered? Does this suggest the grind is too fine or too coarse? Do you need to revise size target? It’s hard to cover all situations in a few quick points, I’m also sure there are other people out there with ideas and suggestions!
