Picture what’s possible: purpose-driven #data and #AI practitioners are driving inclusive growth across Asia. Last week, Cormekki Whitley, Ph D Whitley took the stage at the inaugural Mastercard Center for Inclusive Growth ASEAN Inclusive Growth Summit to debate a defining question: is innovation the most powerful lever for inclusive growth? While there were strong arguments on both sides of the debate, DataDotOrg’s point of view is clear: innovation and technology alone are not the greatest drivers of economic resilience—people are. Capacity, trust, and collaboration are what ensure a prosperous and inclusive future for all. #AIGS2025 #ASEANInclusiveGrowth #InclusiveGrowth #AIforGood #AIDrivesImpact #DataDrivesImpact Subhashini (Shuba) Chandran, Payal Dalal, Shabnam Akhter, Emma Stanton, Nur Hasan, Uyi Stewart, PhD, Priyank Hirani, Helena Zhang, Jack Lew, Asian Institute of Digital Finance, Jackie W., APRU, Ming T., Nimisha Tailor, Dorron Mottes, Perry Hewitt, Emma Donelan, Lindsey Gottschalk

The fifth piece in my “Ten Forces Shaping 2026” series looks at how globalization is quietly being rebuilt. Globalization is rewiring itself. The smooth, borderless flow of the last century is giving way to a new architecture of connected regions — where trade, data, and culture move through multiple hubs rather than a single system. The world economy is reorganizing around five regional gravity centers — ASEAN, LATAM, Africa, Europe, and the GCC — while the U.S. and China act as dual anchors, shaping influence, innovation, and capital from opposite ends of the network. As AI, logistics, and trust protocols form the new connective tissue, a quieter logic is emerging — resilience over efficiency, adaptability over scale. “The Next Map” explores this shift — from trade flows to trust flows, from uniformity to identity, and from globalization to intelligence. 👇 Read on Medium: “The Next Map: Rebuilding Globalization for the Polycentric Era” (Part of the Ten Macro Forces — Trends 2026 series) https://lnkd.in/dKhzG6kq #Trends #2026Trends #Trends2026

Grateful to join the TechInnovation panel last week, with Heli Helskyaho, Laurence Liew, and Akshay Chaudhari, Ph.D. on a deeply engaging discussion on governing AI in a time of hype and uncertainty — our panel discussion preceded by a thought-provoking fireside chat with Mr Ho Kwon Ping and Juliana Chan, PhD that reminded us what leadership really means in this era of rapid change. Some highlights that stood out for me: 🚦 Separate the signal from the noise. Governments are being told AI will transform everything — but not every shiny demo translates into public value. Policy should start with problems, not technologies. 🏛️ Institutions, not algorithms, need to be at the heart. The bottleneck isn’t tech feasibility — it’s change management, trust, and capacity within organisations to use AI well. As Banyan Tree’s service ethos puts it, “I Am With You.” - the same human-centred principle should guide how we build trust in digital technology. 👷♀️ AI isn’t replacing work — it’s reshaping it. Tasks are shifting and jobs transforming. #AugmentedIntelligence is needed to ensure technology enhances — rather than erodes — human capability. That means equipping people with the right skills, supporting SMEs to innovate, and making lifelong learning a core part of economic competitiveness. 🗝️ Interoperability is key. The EU, U.S., and Asia are taking divergent paths on AI regulations, but global trust doesn’t necessarily mean identical rules — but interoperable ones grounded in shared principles of ethics, safety and accountability. Always energising to exchange ideas with those shaping the digital economy’s next chapter. Thank you Jayce Chua, IPI Singapore for the event! #AI #FutureOfWork #PublicPolicy #DigitalTransformation #Governance #Leadership #TechInnovation #DigitalTrust Photo ©️ Matias Helskyaho
