12 weeks. 1 goal. 21 Kilometers. Job done. Yesterday I ran my first ever Half Marathon – Royal Parks Half - London – taking in some of London’s best sights from Hyde Park to Buckingham Palace. I ran alongside six incredible runners from UP - The Adult Cerebral Palsy Movement, the charity founded by my wife Emma Livingstone, and cheered on by an amazing crowd of supporters. Together we raised over £8,500 to fight for better support for adults with cerebral palsy. When I signed up 12 weeks ago, 21K felt impossible. The furthest I’d ever run was 5K. But I set a plan, stuck to it, and kept going – even when I sprained my hamstring halfway through training and had to rest for three weeks. Sometimes it was less about the running and more about just keeping moving (and breathing!). That’s what goal-setting really looks like – in running, business, or life: - Set a clear, measurable target. - Build a plan and track progress. - Do the hard work when no one’s watching. - Keep moving even when it hurts. - Cross the finish line and celebrate success – knowing you’ve earned it. The satisfaction doesn’t come from the medal – it comes from the hard work it took to get there. Huge thanks to everyone who supported and donated – it really kept me going.
