DTP Alumni Spotlight!!! DTP recently caught up with Pascoela Barreto while in Timor for the 33rd Annual Human Rights and Peoples' Diplomacy training program and got a tour of the new women's cancer centre at the Alola Foundation. Pascoela is a coordinator of the Alola Foundation in Timor-Leste. She leads Alola’s HALIKU Women’s Cancer Program, reaching over 20,000 people, training hundreds of health workers, and supporting at least 250 women to access diagnosis and care at Dili National Hospital, including arranging their transport, accommodation, and treatment support. "The DTP training helped me reframe health access as a human rights obligation and strengthened my practical skills to act on that understanding. I learned how to map power and design advocacy that reaches parliamentarians and bureaucrats."
