𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗡𝗛𝗦 Trying to deliver the NHS 10-Year Plan without understanding spatial context is like… ...driving without a map - you’ll move, but not always in the right direction 🚗 You might have all the pieces - patients, services, data, workforce, estates - but without geography and context, you can't see how they connect. And when you can’t see the connections, you can’t see the opportunities - to optimise services, target need, or invest where it matters most. That’s where geospatial strategy comes in. Because everything in the NHS happens somewhere. Every patient pathway. Every estate. Every community initiative. Every decision. When we understand the where, we reveal powerful insights that connect people, data and systems - helping the NHS move from reactive to proactive, from siloed to connected, from analogue to digital. 👉 The questions I keep asking leaders across health and care is: Do you have a geospatial strategy in place? Do you know how “place” can accelerate your digital transformation and unlock the value hidden in your data? If not, now’s the time to start that conversation. Because once you see the power of place, you’ll never look at NHS data the same way again. #NHS #Geospatial #LocationIntelligence #DigitalTransformation #EsriUK #PopulationHealth #DigitalEstates #SmartHospitals #DigitalHealth
Duncan Booth The Geospatial tools are good for Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Incident Pattern Analytics, case-type spread vector analytics, routes planning/optimization/management, Facility/Asset Management etc. etc. I worked for one of the largest private Medical Group in Florida and national agency in Singapore for the Healthcare Domain. The adoption and implementation of the tools needs more education and leadership push.
I love the opening analogy Duncan Booth. I'd imagine that once a health organisation has started leveraging geospatial understanding to influence planning, they will never turn back and even ask why it took them so long to start doing this!
*cough*UPRN*cough* 😁
Duncan, your point on geospatial strategy is spot on. In agile HR, location data transformed workforce planning—truly a strategic enabler for powerful digital transformation. 🚀🌍 #Geospatial #NHS
