"Forget the panic of jobs being replaced; the true challenge of AI is getting Talent Acquisition (TA) to fundamentally redefine its value. That was the consensus from SPARK TALENT‘s “Unscripted Expert Discussion: TA in the Age of AI—Friend, Foe, or Future,” moderated by Jennifer Kirkwood CEO & Founder of Talvana Consulting, and featuring panelists Bertrand Dussert VP, Talent Acquisition at Staples, and Debra Simmers, Global Head of Talent Acquisition at The Hershey Com" https://lnkd.in/dmCV4fhr

#TalentAcquisition teams are feeling the squeeze, both in terms of a stagnating labour market and disruption from #AI. Falling vacancies, decreases in payrolled employees, weak hiring intentions and stagnant economies have reduced many teams activity levels. Add to this the expanded use of AI in recruiting processes, and #recruitment teams are having to rethink what they do and how they do it. There is uncertainty. So, where are Talent Acquisition teams focusing their attention, what are their #priorities and how are their #strategies evolving? In the first of our series of #infographics digging deep into the #trends in #enterprise #recruiting we focus on our latest research into TA Strategy and Priorities run in partnership with RecFest UK and the #RL100. So, what are the key takeaways: 🥇 Quality is the #1 Priority: The quality of hire is the leading priority for talent acquisition (TA) teams, with 80% of respondents ranking it at the top. It is considered twice as important as 'speed to hire'. ⬇️ Internal Mobility is a Falling Priority: For the third consecutive year, internal mobility has dropped in the list of TA priorities, now ranking 7th, despite the push from wider HR strategy. 💔 Using Internal Talent is a Major Weakness: Half of all recruiting teams state their strategy does not fully harness the potential of internal employees. Less than 10% of teams consider themselves 'very effective' at this, which can damage the employer brand. 🌡️ Measuring Success is a Significant Gap: Despite quality being the main goal, only half of TA teams systematically measure the performance of new hires to determine the effectiveness of their recruiting. 📊 Overall Effectiveness is Low: Less than 25% of recruiters report that any single aspect of their recruitment approach is 'very effective', highlighting a clear opportunity for improvement. A snapshot of the results is included in the carousel pictured here, but the full infographics are available FREE to download from our website. https://lnkd.in/eYpGWWHK We'll be adding more and more insights covering the Recruiting Systems Ecosystem, The Modern Hiring Experience, the adoption of AI in Recruiting and Recruitment Budgets and Technology investment plans in the coming weeks. Can you spot our team at the HR Tech sign? 👀 Ruth Thomas, Katie Harmon, Peh Keong Teh, and Olivia Sedler had an incredible time on the ground in Las Vegas soaking in the energy, ideas, and innovation. This year’s theme, “Be the Change,” was a powerful reminder that HR is uniquely positioned to lead workforce transformation in the age of AI. AI dominated the conversation (no surprise!)—from embedded and GenAI → agentic AI → human + machine optimization. The big takeaway? AI is about data. When HR harnesses it effectively, we can clearly show how people practices fuel business results. And while fears of job displacement linger, the consensus was encouraging: the AI-enabled workplace should put people at the center—empowering employees to do what they do best: be more human. We left energized about the future of HR, compensation, and pay equity—and grateful for the chance to connect with so many of you in person. 🙌 Did you attend HR Tech this year? What was your biggest takeaway?

Two days at the HR Summit in Vienna together with my colleague Julia Dressler; filled with fresh perspectives, and plenty of insights to take home. Thank you very much to all the people and speakers who contributed to this event. Here are a few key takeaways that really stayed with me 👇 1️⃣ AI in HR – a powerful partner, not the decision maker AI is already transforming how we work. But let’s be clear: AI is never the decision maker. As HR professionals, we must stay critically aware, question outputs, and make sure technology enhances, not replaces our judgment. It’s a balance between embracing innovation and staying accountable. 2️⃣ The power of good questions In recruiting, asking the right questions is crucial. It’s not just about evaluating candidates, it’s about deeply understanding people, their motivations, and the complexity of their experiences. And in a world where we are dealing with many different perspectives and increasing complexity, the real power lies in pausing, listening, and asking better (and deeper) questions. 3️⃣ Skill Management – from buzzword to backbone Skill-based recruiting isn’t the future, it’s already here. AI tools are going to enabling us to identify and map skills automatically, build richer employee profiles, and create continuous talent cycles. It’s a shift from static job roles to dynamic skill ecosystems and I can’t wait to see how it evolves. So, let's keep going and I am excited about the next chapter of HR 🚀 #HRSummit2025 #TalentAcquisition #Dreso #WEUNITE
