The 2025 ESMH Summer School kicked off ! 🎉   Young science journalists from across the EU gathered in the European Parliament today for three days of workshops, masterclasses and panel discussions on ‘science communication in the digital age’ 📱🌐 Day 1 explored: 🔸 the shift in media consumption & the use of social media as news source; 🔹 trust in science and academic freedom in the EU and beyond; 🔸 the lessons from reporting on COVID19; 🔹 how science journalism supports policymaking.   Participants had the chance to exchange on these timely topics with: ▪️ Christian Ehler – MEP, STOA Chair ▪️ Alok Jha – Science and Technology Editor at The Economist ▪️ Pavla Hubalkova– Science Writer at WIRED Czech Republic & Slovakia ▪️ Dr. Ike Picone – Professor of Media and Journalism Studies, Vrije Universiteit Brussel ▪️ Agnès Vernet – President of the European Federation for Science Journalism   Missed it?
