EIT - European Institute of Innovation and Technology’s Post

The EIT Governing Board has published an updated Vision Paper to boost its role in Europe’s innovation efforts under the next EU Framework Programme. At the heart of the proposals is a clear ambition: to make the EIT a go-to hub for innovation in Europe. A new KIC Target Model sets out seven key principles for future KICs – such as simpler structures, stronger links with industry, and financial sustainability from day one – to help deliver greater impact. The paper also proposes making it easier for innovators to access EU support, improving coordination with other EU bodies like the EIC, and helping early-stage startups and widening countries tap into Europe’s innovation potential. With nearly €10 billion in external funding raised and over 1.3 million learners trained since 2008, the EIT is ready to take the next step in building a more connected, inclusive, and competitive European innovation ecosystem.
