A Europa em festa com a guerra a bater à nossa porta. Bravo, senhores comissários. Cantem, dancem, brinquem e finjam que está tudo bem. A Europa está segura: não há fome, não há violência, não há atentados, não há pobreza, não há injustiça social-económica... Nós europeus estamos a perder influência mundial, estamos a caminhar para a irrelevância. Somos os melhores na criação de leis e mecanismos de proteção aos direitos dos seus cidadãos, mas somos os piores a enfrentar a realidade pura e crua. Eu sou português. Eu sou europeu. Eu acredito numa só Europa - quiçá num futuro muito distante. Eu acredito em direitos e deveres iguais para todos os europeus. Eu acredito na união e na transformação dos povos europeus. Não basta parecer inteligente, ter uma boa imagem para a fotografia... Vocês têm de encarar os problemas e resolvê-los. É simples! Parem de brincar aos jogos de poder e acertem o passo. Nós europeus queremos uma Europa unida, democrática, equitativa, justa e segura. Queremos uma Europa livre de violência, da extrema-esquerda e da extrema-direita, de manipulações e conflito de interesses que só prejudicam os cidadãos europeus. Nós, europeus, exigimos que comecem a trabalhar a sério - é para isso que são muito bem pagos.
