The European Commission is committed to improving the way we work. To listen more. To make Europe simpler and faster. Our new consultation tool – Implementation Dialogues – is a key part of this. Fifteen such events have already taken place, feeding into our ambitious implementation and simplification agenda. Today, I carried out two: 1️⃣ Together with Eurostat and key stakeholders from the business and statistical communities, we engaged in discussions on reducing reporting burdens on businesses, leveraging existing data, and delivering more relevant and timely statistics for the EU. This discussion will contribute to developing a smarter, simpler statistical system that empowers decision-making and strengthens Europe’s competitiveness. 2️⃣ With key experts from national administrations, we discussed reporting and administrative burdens related to the Recovery and Resilience Facility. Insights from participants will help EU Economy and Finance improve procedures in the final phase of the RRF, streamline existing national plans and enhance the design of future instruments. 🤝 I thank all participants for their time and valuable feedback. I was an honour to represent SMEunited at this dialogue. Using already existing data from insititions (i.e. social potection) and private sources (i.e. payment data) can reduce burden on businesses significantly. Main concern of #SMEs is inclusion of micro enterprises in labour market statistics. This would contradict any simplification efforts.
Thank you for inviting me and DIGITALEUROPE to this dialogue, and for leading a constructive discussion. We fully support the ongoing efforts to streamline data collection for statistics, ensuring single and digital reporting, to apply a once-only principle that simplify businesses' operations.
Indeed a very good event - thank you very much. The Implementation Dialogue format worked really well - ideas and perspectives were brought to the table. Danmarks Statistik is committed to the aim of burden reduction and we look forward to continuing this work with our colleagues in the European Statistical System, with the data providers and with the statistics users.
