Sustainable and resilient agrifood systems are central for climate action and a prerequisite for achieving the Paris Agreement. FAO works with countries and food producers to deliver science-based agrifood solutions that cut emissions, restore ecosystems, and build resilience, while securing food security and nutrition for the 1.2 billion people whose livelihoods depend on them. Instead of instilling trust, you have sown fear. Unfortunately, there are those who care more about filling the pockets of war profiteers and high-ranking government officials than filling the stomachs of the hungry and poor. You have given them complete authority to control the very sustenance that ensures the survival of humanity. What you have accomplished is the worst to date, and if things continue as they are, we will witness the demise of humanity at an alarming rate.
Absolutely! Agrifood systems sit at the heart of both the climate challenge and the solution. Transforming them with science-based, sustainable practices isn’t just about reducing emissions, it’s about restoring ecosystems, strengthening resilience, and safeguarding the livelihoods of billions. Food security, climate action, and human well-being are deeply interconnected. Initiatives that empower farmers and food systems are investments in a safer, healthier, and more equitable future for all. #ClimateAction #FoodSecurity #SustainableAgriculture #ResilientFarming #EcosystemRestoration #ParisAgreement #FAO #Sustainability

19hWhat is sustainable and resilient agrifood system? Fundamentally, there are two types of agrifood system in the world, (1) monoculture and unhealthy food system and (2) polyculture and healthy food system. 1. Monoculture or antibiodiversity agriculture dominates the world. According to FAO 30% agricultural lands of the world has already been desertified and if this trend continues 90% land can be desertified in 2050. Therefore monoculture is unsustainable. 2. Polyculture or biodiversity based agriculture fed the world for last 10,000 years therefore it is sustainable and resilient. FAO should publish a database on Agrobiodiversity of the World. FAO should publish a Standards for doing research on polyculture (complex agroecosystem) for improvement of productivity and profitability of polyculture. FAO should also give annual awards to the farmers for conservation of biodiversity in agriculture. Agrobiodiversity should be determines by species richness and biodiversity index of both plants and animals. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0FBGY46SH
