Dhenkanal, Odisha: Collaboration for Sustainable Livelihoods and Landscapes

💚 #MondayMotivation In the heart of Dhenkanal, Odisha, voices from the ground came together—farmers, women leaders, and local officials—to reimagine how livelihoods and landscapes can thrive together. As part of our Verra-registered AFOLU (ARR) project, the initiative is expanding across Dhenkanal district, restoring 4,280 hectares of fallow land, generating 4.7 million carbon credits, and empowering 10,000+ smallholder farmers across Odisha’s tribal districts. At our Local Stakeholder Consultation (LSC) under the project “Strengthening Rural Livelihoods of Smallholder Farmers in Tribal Districts of Odisha,” we witnessed what collaboration truly looks like: 🌾Farmers, community leaders & officials from various government departments united to co-create local climate solutions 🌳 Plantation-based interventions identified as tools for carbon removal and income generation 💧 Discussions on soil & water restoration for long-term resilience 👩🌾 Shared stories of women-led agroforestry and community participation 🌍 Commitment to make every hectare restored a step toward sustainable rural prosperity Because when communities lead, climate action blossoms. #ClimateAction #Sustainability #NatureBasedSolutions #CarbonFinance #Agroforestry #FCFIndia #Odisha
