Saw this today and had to laugh — but honestly, it’s a good sign. Every foundational tech layer starts out this way. When HTTP first appeared, only a handful of people even knew what a web server was. When containerization began, it was mostly DevOps engineers talking to each other. Now, MCP is at that same early-builder stage for agentic AI. It’s the connective layer that lets models share tools, memory, and context — across systems today, and eventually across entire organizations. As it matures, “MCP” will fade into the background, and what we’ll notice instead are AI systems that just work together — smoother, smarter, and more capable.
