🌍 𝗦𝗶𝘅 𝗨𝗸𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗔𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗦𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗖𝗼𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘂𝗺𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗘𝗨𝗥𝗔𝗗𝗔 🇪🇺 On 14 October in Brussels, during the European Week of Regions and Cities (#EURegionsWeek), six Ukrainian Regional Development Agencies (RDAs) - from Volyn, Ternopil, Khmelnytskyi, Vinnytsia, Sumy, and Odesa regions - signed Memorandums of Cooperation with the EURADA - European Association of Development Agencies. 🇨🇭 The Ukrainian agencies involved are pilot partners of the Swiss-Ukrainian Project “Ukraine’s Cohesion and Regional Development” (UCORD Project). Together, EURADA and the UCORD Project co-organised a roundtable, “Regional Development as the Foundation of Ukraine’s Path to EU Integration.” The discussion served as a platform to explore opportunities for Ukrainian RDAs in the context of European integration and laid the groundwork for signing the Memorandums of Understanding. The UCORD Project also supported the participation of the Ukrainian delegation and continues to cover #EURegionsWeek2025 - a major event bringing together representatives of regions and communities from across the EU. 🤝 The memorandums between Ukrainian RDAs and EURADA formalise a shared commitment to deepen partnerships, exchange knowledge, and develop joint initiatives in regional policy and innovation. Their signing opens new opportunities for systemic dialogue, joint project implementation, and integration of Ukrainian agencies into the European cohesion policy network. Eng), Chairperson of the Namibia Internet Governance Forum NamIGF, emphasized the critical role of collaboration in addressing Africa’s digital challenges. She highlighted that governments, civil society, the private sector, and academia all bring unique perspectives, but none can successfully navigate the complexities of the digital era in isolation. Her address focused on the need for joint responsibility, collective trust, and inclusive dialogue to unlock the opportunities of digital transformation. By pointing to the role of multi stakeholder platforms such as NamIGF, she underscored how these spaces provide the necessary foundation for cooperation, consensus building, and sustainable policy development. Shipena stressed that inclusive governance is essential for ensuring that technological progress goes hand in hand with the protection of fundamental rights. She positioned collaboration not as an option but as the cornerstone of Africa’s digital future. Her remarks came as the Forum, hosted by Collaboration on International ICT Policy for East and Southern Africa (CIPESA) explored urgent topics such as artificial intelligence, disinformation, internet shutdowns, resilience, and privacy. Namibia’s role as host further highlighted its leadership in digital policy dialogue and its commitment to fostering multi stakeholder engagement. Her message aligned strongly with the Forum’s broader mission of shaping a connected, inclusive, and rights-based digital ecosystem across Africa.

The South-East European National Libraries (SEENL) network held its latest meeting on 30 September 2025 in Skopje, Republic of North Macedonia, bringing together directors and representatives from national libraries across the region, including Türkiye, Greece, Bulgaria, and Kosovo. The meeting focused on advancing a Regional Strategy for Artificial Intelligence in libraries, exploring how new technologies can enhance access to knowledge, improve services, and support innovation. Members shared updates on their ongoing national initiatives, exchanged experiences, and discussed opportunities for joint capacity building and expertise sharing. SEENL remains committed to promoting regional collaboration, digital transformation, and sustainable knowledge exchange among the national libraries of South-Eastern Europe.
