Senior Vice President for Low Carbon Solutions in Equinor

On Friday, I signed a Memorandum of Understanding together with Pascal De Buck, CEO of Fluxys and Detlef Brüggemeyer, CTO of OGE. Together we aim to develop infrastructure for transport of CO2 from industrial clusters in Germany and Belgium for permanent storage facilities on the Norwegian continental shelf. Pipeline transportation of CO2 is one way to reduce the unit cost of transportation - an important step towards commercial CCS. The signing took place in the presence of the Minister-President of Flanders, Matthias Diependaele, and the Minister-President of North Rhine-Westphalia, @Hendrik Wüst. To realize these new value-chains we need coordination and collaboration. This MOU aims to strengthen cross border collaboration and drive decarbonization of Belgian and German industry.
