🔥 What a launch! Last Thursday, we officially inaugurated the new Belgian Chapter of the Global Equity Organization. The event featured Bekaert's approach of long term incentives, a stimulating discussion between Arnaud Stievenart (I-care Group), Inge Michiels (Trane Technologies) and Rodolphe de Pierpont (FEB - Federation of Enterprises in Belgium) about current trends and was concluded by a cocktail between very enthusiastic LTI experts. With my fellow board members Veerle Lerut (Baker McKenzie Belgium) and Henk Debrock (Bekaert), we commit to make this chapter an open forum that will foster the exchange of knowledge, best practices and market trends between companies, funds, lawyers, consultants, academic and equity providers. Indeed, stock-options, free share, coinvestment, P-RSU, carried-interest etc. are more than modalities of remuneration. They are strategic levers for companies to attract or motivate talents, life changers for individuals, and a condition of attractivity for countries. In a context of fast evolving regulations and market practices, they are also becoming more and more technical. Hence our need for a transversal approach.
