🤝 Trust is the foundation of international trade — yet building it can be complex when counterparties come from different regions and banking systems. A recurring challenge arises when sellers in Western markets are hesitant to accept banking instruments issued by counterparties in Asian or African countries. This gap in trust often delays or even prevents otherwise valuable trade flows. At such crossroads, innovative trade finance solutions step in: ✔️ Third-party guarantees from reputable international banks or insurers ✔️ Structured trade finance facilities that mitigate counterparty risk ✔️ Collateralised arrangements ensuring payment security ✔️ Advisory support to structure transactions that meet compliance and credit requirements By bridging these trust gaps, businesses can unlock opportunities, expand markets, and grow sustainably — while ensuring that no geography is left behind in global trade. 🌍 At West Moon Capital, we help counterparties design robust trade finance structures that bring confidence to both sides of the table. #WestMoonCapital #TradeFinance #InternationalTrade #EmergingMarkets #GlobalTrade #FinancialAdvisory #TrustInTrade #StructuredFinance

HSBC has made a HK$106bn ($13.6bn) offer to buy out minority investors in Hong Kong lender Hang Seng Bank as it presses ahead with a restructuring plan. Hang Seng Bank has been hard hit by Hong Kong’s recent property slump, with its non-performing loan ratio at 6.7 per cent at the end of June — an all-time high. In 1965, HSBC acquired a controlling 51% stake in Hang Seng Bank, after the latter suffered a significant bank run during a financial crisis. https://lnkd.in/gwF-5dsC

The latest innovation in trade finance isn’t just incremental — it’s transformative. At their core, international payment instruments embody guarantees, promises, or obligations made by specified parties to pay exact amounts — either on demand or at predetermined times. These commitments are typically memorialised in formal documents detailing the promisor’s obligation. The latest innovation? Transaction Guarantee instruments now provide up to 100% non-payment risk cover to confirming banks on trade finance transactions involving eligible issuing banks. This marks a significant step in strengthening global liquidity, trust, and resilience in cross-border trade. #InternationalTrade #TradeFinance #GlobalBusiness #FinancialInstruments #InternationalBanking #RiskManagement #ExportFinance
