Thank you to IDC Research Director Patrick Reymann on this newly published paper on AI-Native procurement platforms and what it takes. I love the observation that ChatGPT "exposed the critical difference between platforms designed with AI-native architecture —where every data structure anticipates machine learning (ML) and every workflow assumes intelligent automation —and traditional solutions that approached AI as an added feature.” The biggest difference I'd point out is that AI needs to help throughout the process. If you buy something, AI should help sort out suppliers, analyze bids, and align new contracts to corporate terms. If you have a new supplier, AI should enrich the supplier record, track risks, and give you an idea of next steps across the board to support the supplier relationship. It's not enough to just have AI at the start, then leave the rest to manual processes and outdated enterprise applications. Please check out the report from one of the top thought leaders in enterprise procurement!
Not all AI is created equal. This new IDC Spotlight explains why the difference between AI-native and bolted-on AI matters more than ever. AI-native platforms are not retrofitting AI onto existing systems. They are built from the ground up with intelligence at the core. The result is less friction, smarter automation, and a fundamentally different user experience. Levelpath stands out as the leading AI-native procurement platform, delivering better workflows, more efficiency, and a delightful experience from day one.
