Cross-Border Workforce Well being Did you know nearly half of Luxembourg’s workforce crosses borders daily? Long commutes and hybrid schedules amplify stress for neurodivergent employees. • Coach managers to build flexible “core hours” and buffer zones around peak-traffic times. • Design sensory-aware hub days in the office: quiet zones, adjustable lighting, noise-cancelling zones. • Equip cross-border teams with executive-functioning toolkits: visual planners, digital reminders, stress-management microbreaks. By tailoring hybrid models to neurodiverse needs, you’ll reduce late starts by 20% and boost focus on high-value tasks. #CrossBorderWorkforce #HybridInclusion #LuxembourgHR #hr #europeanleadership #diversity #inclusion #inclusionmatters #bethechangeUN #EASPD #Europeandisabilityforum #disabilityhubeurope #HRzone #siliconluxembourg #eu #humanresources #autism #adhd #dyslexia #wearehiring #hiringnow #ai #nowhiring #employment #success #jobseekers #management #leadership #leadershipdevelopment #leadershipfirst #mentoring #leader #EuropeCareerSupport #Opportunity #OpenToWork #DEI #businessstrategy #techupdates #futureofwork #EschSurAlzette #Kirchberg #Clausen

A survey of 1,000 remote workers found that 1 in 4 believe their social skills have declined since working from home — struggling with small talk, eye contact, and conversations In Canada, 43% of workers said their social skills weakened when in-person meetings dropped — with women reporting this more often than men. Is remote work really giving us freedom — or slowly taking away our social life? Read more: https://lnkd.in/daJV_7FR #RemoteWork #workfromhome

Every time I post about work from home vs work from the office, the debate gets heated. And with good reason - there are strong arguments on both sides. But beyond opinions, the reality of the South African employment landscape is shifting. In my recent poll, nearly 50% of respondents said they are in the office at least 3 days a week, while only 29% are still fully remote. This isn’t a post to debate whether that’s “good” or “bad” - we hear both sides every day: - From employers around boardroom tables, grappling with culture, productivity, and collaboration. - From employees navigating traffic, childcare, and new daily routines. The fact remains: the pendulum is swinging, and it’s reshaping how people live, work, and plan their careers in South Africa. I thought these numbers were worth sharing. #FutureOfWork #WorkTrends #HybridWork #BackToOffice #TheTalentExperts

Loneliness is often an unspoken challenge faced by families relocating to new countries, particularly in an age where remote work and global mobility are becoming the norm. The article, "Loneliness After Moving: A Family's Journey from the UK to the US," highlights the emotional toll that relocation can take, showcasing how this common struggle can impact not only personal well-being but also professional productivity. As organizations increasingly operate in global markets, understanding the psychological barriers to relocation is essential. Companies need to consider how they support employees and their families during transitions, fostering environments that promote social connections. Embracing a holistic approach to employee well-being can lead to greater retention and enhanced engagement. How can we better support families during their relocation journeys to mitigate feelings of loneliness and isolation? Why should we be back to office? When studying British scholars, Dr Chima Mordi from the College of Business at University of Doha for Science & Technology shows that teleworking generates technostress: - Loss of Boundary Identity – Persistent ICT use erased distinctions between professional and personal life, with constant intrusions through digital platforms. - Morbidity – Heightened stress, fatigue, burnout, and physical ailments arose from excessive screen time and boundary permeability. - Techno-Isolation – Reduced collegiality and increased loneliness undermined wellbeing and engagement. Female academics, particularly those with caregiving responsibilities, experienced intensified conflicts, revealing a gendered dimension to technostress. Dr Chima shares his research with the students of Master of Science in Human Resource Management (M.Sc. HRM) of the College of Business at University of Doha for Science & Technology. It illuminates the potential “dark side” of teleworking. https://lnkd.in/dfpsTebW

Shaping the Future of Remote Work Reading our latest Cape Times piece reminded me that work itself has a value chain — it’s not just about tasks or productivity, but about the ecosystem that profits from where and how we work. Offices sustain multiple industries: electricity consumption, stationery sales, cleaning services, catering, and more. So when we say “come back to the office,” part of that motivation is economic, the survival of an entire infrastructure built around physical presence. But does that mean we are more productive there? That’s debatable. Office politics, micromanagement, and subtle forms of bullying still derail focus and well-being, just as isolation and blurred boundaries can in remote contexts. The real question isn’t whether people should be at home or at work; it’s whether we’ve redefined what productivity means in a post-pandemic world. Has our mindset evolved as much as our technology has? This peer-reviewed study; a collaboration between Nelson Mandela University, University of Fort Hare, University of Pretoria, and University of Johannesburg explores how women managers in South Africa’s public sector are navigating the emotional, cultural, and structural tensions of remote work. Read the full article in today’s Cape Times; Daily Dispatch; Pretoria News and The Mercury. The 2025 State of Independence study confirms what millions of workers already feel: 86% of independents say they are happier, 78% report feeling healthier, and 67% feel more secure. This research shows independence is more than a job choice. It is a path to wellbeing, autonomy, and a work experience that aligns with personal goals and lifestyle. Tapping into the independent workforce means engaging people who bring energy, focus, and resilience to every project.
