They represent a lot of bright ideas! 💡 Altogether, these projects are asking for 3 million euros from the EU. The expert committee of the STIPP Instrument will have its hands full deciding which ones get picked! STIPP is here for SMEs in the border area of Belgium, Germany, and the Netherlands. 🌍 At the heart of the EUROLakes project are three demonstration sites — in Italy, Germany, and Romania — showcasing how science, technology, and community collaboration can restore and protect Europe’s lakes. 🇷🇴 In Romania, targeted funding is driving the use of digital and financial innovation tools for local lake restoration. Through advanced modelling, digital twin simulations, and socio-economic assessments, researchers can test nature-based solutions virtually before applying them in the field — improving efficiency and reducing environmental risks. 💧 Across all sites, EUROLakes applies the 4 Returns Framework, creating environmental, social, and economic value for local communities. 👏 Last week was a busy week in Brussels, with the annual European Week of Regions and Cities (#EWRC) taking place from 13-15 October. The city saw coming from all across Europe thousands of stakeholders in a series of events, to take stock on the state of play of European regions and cities. On this occasion, #GRANULAR contributed to two events on the afternoon of 14 October, in line with its activities in the Knowledge Transfer Accelerator (#KTA).  1. Rural proofing: Making policies work for rural areas through data & Earth observation ✔ Co-hosted workshop exploring how to embed rural perspectives into policymaking at every level. ✔ Key contributions from Alexia Rouby (European Commission – DG AGRI), Betty-Ann B. (OECD - OCDE), and Christos Moutsios (Region of Central Greece, Enviromental Department). ✔ Discussion on moving rural proofing beyond a “check-box exercise” — embedding it throughout policy design, implementation and evaluation. ✔ Real examples from Central Greece showing how rural proofing supports resilience, climate adaptation, heritage protection and social cohesion. ✔ Interactive roundtables led by @GRANULAR, RUSTIK and VALORADA EU Living Labs applying rural proofing methods to real-world territorial challenges. 2. Tech2Heal Project Meeting 2025 – Advancing Digital Health in Tromsø, Norway From 3–5 November 2025, partners and experts from across Europe will meet in Tromsø, Norway, for the upcoming Tech2Heal Project Meeting, hosted by partners the Norwegian Centre for E-health Research. Over three days, the consortium will explore progress and innovation in digital health, from governance and regulation to AI in clinical data, video consultations in mental health care, and support for health workers in complex patient pathways. The programme also highlights the strong digital health ecosystem in Northern Norway, featuring local innovators such as Nattugla, ABEL Technologies, and the FOSS Skills and Simulation Centre at UiT The Arctic University of Norway. What happens when cities/regions and energy cooperatives work in tandem? Over the past three years, TANDEMS ran real-world pilots in the Netherlands, Belgium, and Bulgaria - building tools, sharing knowledge, and learning by doing - to make community energy more inclusive, faster to deploy, and easier to replicate.   Key recommendations: ✔️ Keep citizens in the driver’s seat ✔️ Let municipalities facilitate, not control ✔️ Make justice the standard ✔️ Replicate with adaptation, not copy-paste ✔️ Provide long-term support ✔️ Invest in learning and reflection ✔️ Bridge local and European policy   What’s next? After-LIFE 2025–2030 👉 Replicate successful pilots in new municipalities within the three core regions 👉 Transfer key results (incl.
