Flightradar24 captured Iran's missile attack. I thought I would share this example of data visualisation with you. Qatari, Bahraini, and Kuwaiti airspace went completely dark before Iran's missile attack. Zoom out and you'll see geopolitics mapped in real-time: silent skies over Ukraine, Western airlines avoiding Russia while Chinese carriers fly straight through, empty corridors above Syria and Iraq. Flight patterns reveal the truth. Planes simply don't fly where it's dangerous. This is a really good way to see this.
Prime example of “alternative data”… although so many people have it on their (flight)radar nowadays so it does provide much of a competitive edge anymore. Do you know if some agentic AI is using such sources already James?
Are you aware where Iran is on the map? What you call "Iran's missile attack" launches outside Iran and lands in Iran.
Great post James Eagle In the words of Donald Rumsfeld ... “As we know, there are known knowns; there are things we know we know. We also know there are known unknowns; that is to say we know there are some things we do not know. But there are also unknown unknowns — the ones we don’t know we don’t know.”
yes here we go again hurting the airlines due to massive costs of diversions. Never bloody ending
Impressive how just in a matter of minutes all planes scramble !
I remember, a day before the financial crisis hit in 2008, there were no ships moored in the Singapore Straits.
Thanks for sharing, James

4mo5 hours ago Iran coordinated the attacks on the American air base in Qatar with Qatari officials and gave advanced notice that attacks were coming to minimize casualties, New York Times reported.
