I have been an Usher fan since 1993 (we’re called “Day Oners”). When his first hit ‘Can U Get Wit It’ came out on the radio he was 14, and I was 18. Even then, he wasn’t just ‘aspiring to be’ an entertainer. He WAS one. Period. The difference between Usher and every other kid saying they’d be famous? He backed it up. Every time he stepped on stage, he proved it. Everyone in digital health right now claims their platform will improve outcomes. Pitch decks full of promises. Websites making bold claims, and even a few testimonials. But when you look under the hood? Actual evidence that their product or service delivers? That’s rare. This gap between claims and proof is why I do what I do. It's not that companies are lying–most genuinely believe they're helping people. But believing and knowing are different things. And in healthcare, that difference can mean everything. Usher didn't just manifest success by calling himself an entertainer. He proved it, performance after performance, year after year. He had the vision AND the evidence. That's what turned a 14-year-old kid from Atlanta into a Super Bowl headliner. Digital health companies need the same combination. Yes, claim your space. Be bold about your mission. But then do the work to prove it. Measure outcomes. Run studies. Publish data. Turn your manifesto into evidence. Because at the end of the day, sustainable success–whether you're an entertainer or a digital health company–comes from backing up what you say with proof of what you actually do. And Usher, if you are reading this: I love you! #digitalhealth #healthtech #evidencebased #outcomes #credibility #wellnesstech #healthcareinnovation #usherfan

2dJennifer Huberty, PhD I couldn’t help but comment on this post. Anyone who knows me well knows how much I absolutely adore Usher. He’s been my favorite artist since I was 12. I’ve been to every concert, with the exception of the Vegas residency. We had tickets for my bachelorette party, but COVID unfortunately canceled that plan. My friends, knowing how important he is to me, made sure he was part of my bachelorette weekend in spirit. He even safely made the trip back from AVL to NYC. I share this because I always feel a special bond with those who adore Usher as much as I do. And to your point: your word is your bond. Delivering on what you promise is truly the key to success.
