Our education teams from across Australia recently came together in Brisbane for #TEFMA25 – Brighter Futures: Facilities for the Future – Blending People, Property, Processes, and Platform. The conference sparked valuable conversations for our project management and advisory team, particularly around: • The challenges of ageing building stock and underutilised spaces in shaping student experiences • Adaptive re-use to create flexible learning zones and industry-shared specialist spaces • Funding constraints for capital works without government or private sector support As Belinda Lawler shared, “It was a wonderful opportunity for us to catch up with each other, reconnect with old friends, and make new connections. The event was a great success, and the energy and enthusiasm were truly contagious.” TEFMA25 provided fresh insights that will continue to shape how we innovate, collaborate, and prepare tertiary facilities for the future. A couple of days ago I joined “EU priorities in VET – from Osnabrück to Herning and beyond”, a Cedefop event exploring how Vocational Education & Training across Europe can adapt, modernize, and become inclusive and sustainable. Key reflections: VET must evolve beyond traditional training models. Digital tools and AI-enabled learning analytics can personalize skill paths; ESG-based modules can prepare learners for green job markets; and flexible credentials are essential to reach vulnerable learners. For Neireva, this event reinforced our conviction that education, sustainability, and technology must converge. We’re keen to support VET institutions with curriculum co-development, digital tools, and capacity building — bridging what’s currently policy talk into actionable, measurable practice. Many thanks to Cedefop, the speakers, and all participants for the stimulating exchange. Looking forward to follow-up collaboration. #VETnationalplans #ReferNet #VET #VocationalEducation #DigitalLearning #ESG #Skills #LifelongLearning #EU #Neireva #Innovation

APFN 11 came to an end yesterday, but the selection committee for the APFN awards 2025 is happy to recognize The Change Initiative, led by facilitation expert and futurist Jost Wagner, for its outstanding contribution to advancing the mission of the Asia-Pacific Futures Network (APFN) — to cultivate a “Forest of Foresight.” The selection committee would like to highlight three key achievements: 🌿 First, The Change Initiative’s pivotal role in co-organizing, co-hosting, and co-facilitating several APFN conferences since 2018. Through these efforts, the organization has played a central part in expanding and strengthening our community of futurists and foresight practitioners across the region. 🌿 Second, its commitment to creating affordable and accessible courses with senior futurists. These programs have inspired a significant number of individuals and organizations to embrace futures thinking — not only as a concept, but as a practice embedded in everyday work and strategic decision-making. They have also connected a growing number of futurists with new partners, projects, and opportunities for collaboration. 🌿 Finally, The Change Initiative is acknowledged for its “guerrilla foresight” approach — subtly weaving futures thinking tools and mindsets into facilitation work with organizations such as the United Nations, governments, and development agencies. This creative approach demonstrates that futures literacy can flourish anywhere people come together to shape change. #FuturesThinking #Foresight #APFN #AsiaPacificFuturesNetwork #TheChangeInitiative #FuturesLiteracy #Facilitation #Collaboration #Innovation #StrategicForesight #SystemsThinking #ChangeMakers

Bringing students into your organization can bring new eyes, skills and creativity. Mitacs WIL program models intentionally centre on creating research and innovation outcomes for the host partner while delivering a WIL experience to students. These reciprocal relationships last: 66% of the partnerships we fund are still collaborating 3 years later.

📊 Good training doesn’t end with a certificate — it starts with continuous improvement. Within the European project MiCrocVET – Developing a common approach to Micro-credentials for non-formal C-VET providers, co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme 🇪🇺, evaluation plays a central role in ensuring that every micro-credential remains useful, up to date and recognised over time. An effective evaluation and adjustment system is built on three main pillars: 🔹 Feedback collection: listening regularly to learners, trainers and employers helps understand how well the courses meet real market and social needs.🔹 Performance indicators: tracking learner results, completion rates and professional outcomes provides a clear measure of impact.🔹 Ongoing updates: adapting programmes, workloads and EQF reference levels keeps courses relevant and aligned with the evolving world of work. Only through this process of continuous evaluation and improvement can we create learning pathways that are credible, transparent and recognised across Europe 🌍 The project is coordinated by MARKEUT SKILLS Sociedad Limitada (Spain) and carried out in partnership with E&D Knowledge Consulting (Portugal), Kainotomia & SIA EE (Greece) and OpenCom I.S.S.C. (Italy) 💡 #MiCrocVET #ErasmusPlus #OpenCom #Microcredentials #VocationalTraining #LifelongLearning #VET #EuropeanEducation #QualityAssurance #InnovationInEducation #Evaluation
