Bolzano is becoming a true hotspot for AI in public administration – and I’m honoured to be part of it. 🇮🇹🤝🇩🇪 Today, the Südtiroler Informatik AG (SIAG) officially opened its new lab.ai at the NOI Techpark – a dedicated space for advancing artificial intelligence in the service of citizens. As part of the inauguration, I had the privilege to speak alongside Johannes Schneebacher, Alessio Trazzi and Vincenzo Esposito about: 🔍 Trustworthy AI – accuracy, transparency, and data sovereignty in government contexts 🚫 How to avoid risks like hallucinations and lock-in effects 🤝 The importance of Germany–Italy collaboration in building secure, citizen-focused digital solutions 📊 Our latest joint project: Regulatory Impact Assessment (Gesetzesfolgeabschätzung) – a modular platform to analyse the effects of legislation on society and „real life“ My takeaway: The key is not to predict the future, but to prepare for it – by building AI systems that are ethical, transparent, and truly serve the public good. Congratulations to SIAG and all partners for creating a place where ideas turn into impactful solutions! And thanks to Stefan Gasslitter for eight years of amazing partnership! And thanks Claudia Messner for the great moderation! #AI #TrustworthyAI #DigitalSovereignty #Innovation

Good Morning Kim Nguyen, Johannes Schneebacher, Alessio Trazzi, this is wonderful. I could not imagine a more suitable place on earth for pushing forward digital sovereignty and trustworthy AI than the Autonomous Province of Bozen/Bolzano in the lovely South Tyrol. go.eIDAS Association, I would recommend to reach out to the colleagues to clarify how we may support this initiative.
