On September 25th, 2025, Bússola Tech hosted a high-level panel discussion titled “Artificial Intelligence and the Future of Citizen Interface with Parliaments.” Moderated by Mr. Luís Kimaid, Executive Director of Bússola Tech, the session explored how artificial intelligence can transform the way citizens access and engage with legislative institutions. The panel featured distinguished participants: - Prof. Dr. Fotios Fitsilis, Hellenic Parliament (Greece); - Mr. Jurgens Pieterse, Parliament of the Republic of South Africa; - Mr. Stephen Dwyer, U.S. House of Representatives; - Mr. Vishwajit Singh, HawkAItrack. Throughout the discussion, participants examined the current applications of AI across parliamentary public platforms, such as websites, mobile applications, and generative models. The conversation addressed the challenges of transforming legacy parliamentary data into structured, machine-readable formats suitable for integration with modern AI tools. Speakers also reflected on which citizen-facing interfaces should be prioritized to maximize public access to information and improve user experience through intuitive, AI-driven design. I believe regulation matters. Innovation must move fast – but it must also move responsibly. That’s why I volunteer my time and expertise to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) AI Safety Institute Consortium (AISIC) – helping define the standards and frameworks that ensure safe, trustworthy, and aligned AI. AI alignment isn’t just a technical problem; it’s a human one, and getting it right is essential for our collective future. 🇲🇩 Moldova Joins the European Network of “Artificial Intelligence Factories” (AI Factories) through the Launch of FAIMA – the Moldovan Artificial Intelligence Factory Antenna. 📡 FAIMA, one of the 13 antennas selected by EuroHPC Joint Undertaking (EuroHPC JU), will connect Moldova to the European supercomputing network. It will provide researchers, startups, and public institutions with access to advanced AI resources, secure data, and modern infrastructures for innovation. 🤝 The FAIMA Antenna will be connected to the PIAST Artificial Intelligence Factory in Poland, creating a cross-border collaboration corridor and enabling continuous exchange of expertise between regional innovation ecosystems. 🌍 The AI Factories Initiative is a strategic program of the European Union dedicated to developing advanced AI infrastructures and fostering collaboration among research centers, universities, enterprises, and industries across Europe. “Connecting the Republic of Moldova to the European supercomputing network opens a new chapter for innovation and competitiveness. This step gives us direct access to cutting-edge infrastructure, major investments, and EU programs dedicated to artificial intelligence. MITP will play a key role in this process, and together with our partners - the e-Governance Agency Moldova, Ministerul Dezvoltării Economice și Digitalizării al Republicii Moldova, Technical University of Moldova, and other private partners - we will build an AI ecosystem grounded in education, data quality, and responsible governance,” said Marina Bzovîi, MITP Administrator. 🔗 The launch of FAIMA is the result of close cooperation between the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization, the Ministry of Education and Research, UTM, and the European Commission, following the visit to Chișinău of Henna Virkkunen, Vice-President of the European Commission for Technological Sovereignty, Security, and Democracy. 🚀 With the support of the European Union and in partnership with the private sector, Moldova is firmly positioning itself on the European innovation map - taking an essential step toward integration into Europe’s digital ecosystem.
