"The age of AI has very quickly become the energy race." This powerful statement from Kevin Dean Pettit of Creative Glu, an expert in Enterprise AI Transformation, set the stage for a critical conversation at The Nest Climate Campus during Climate Week NYC. To meet the insatiable energy needs of the AI boom, utility companies must become the most efficient and effective in the world. This requires moving beyond the "huge human manual component" in core processes. Kevin shared a perfect example: analyzing a 1,200-page environmental report, a task that can take weeks. By embedding "agentic AI" into the workflow, this process can be reduced by 95-99%. The goal isn't to replace human expertise, but to empower it—freeing up our brightest minds to focus on the real work of generating and distributing safe, fair, and affordable energy. It was great to connect with leaders who are ready to embrace AI as a foundational tool to win the new energy race. #AI #EnergyTransition #Utilities #DigitalTransformation #Efficiency #ClimateWeekNYC #FutureOfWork #CreativeGlu

Generative AI isn’t waiting for the future, it’s already powering real-world solutions that touch health, climate, and governance today. In healthcare, AI models now simulate molecular interactions and predict drug efficacy faster than ever before cutting years off research timelines and supporting global health goals. In climate and environmental science, advanced models are driving high-precision weather forecasts and climate simulations that strengthen resilience in vulnerable regions. The emerging digital twin systems for climate monitoring show how technology can work with nature, not against it. Across cities in Africa, data-driven systems are helping governments and private players reimagine urban policy from waste management to energy optimization and mobility planning. The real question isn’t how powerful AI can become, it’s how responsibly we apply that power. The future belongs to those who can bridge innovation, governance, and human impact. The next wave of transformation won’t be about building bigger models, it’ll be about building smarter collaborations that truly change lives. #GenerativeAI #ClimateTech #UrbanInnovation #AIforGood #Sustainability #DigitalTransformation #AfricaTech #SDGs #ResponsibleAI

AI the game changer! Yes, I agree. AI the revolutionist!! Sure, seemingly true. AI climate change miracle worker!!! Yes, what it is meant to look. Chai! Have you consider Nature-based adaptation [NbA]: Nature-based solutions..... Have you pause to carry out the impact analysis of AI or any other technology in climate change mitigation? What is the economic, environmental, and social implications surrounding these technologies' deployment? For the advocates, publish the cost benefit analysis holistically. This is what debating!

MIT recently warned that generative AI could undermine climate goals through massive energy and water demand. But here’s the paradox: the same AI tools can also help us solve those problems — from optimising data centre cooling to monitoring air and water quality at scale. The question is: will AI become part of the climate problem, or part of the climate solution? #AI #Sustainability #ClimateTech #Innovation

We live in the world of two time zones - the other one is physical, where things change but not very visibly and the other one is the world where AI has changed it all and guess no one yet fully understands how huge the change is and whether it has any limits. In that other world things are changing in a speed we’ve never seen before and AI is here to do anything you can imagine - and even the things you can’t. While implementation is faster and cheaper than ever it doesn’t take away the importance of idea, strategy and clear vision. It actually underlines all of this. You need more brains and less hands. If you can’t keep up you are not able to stay relevant in that other world. And then this world we’re seeing around us is still struggling with wars, climate disaster, inequality and all of it. #AI #transformation #newera #oldproblems

As can be read today in the news, the climate crisis is accelerating, demanding we cut energy consumption. However, Tech companies are launching incredibly power-hungry AI video generators. Here’s what’s so maddening!!! We already have a game-changing form of AI in LLMs. This technology is amazing because it's rooted in language, helping us structure and communicate knowledge with unprecedented conciseness. It's a tool for clarity. Yet, in my opinion, we are now pouring resources into an amoral race to the bottom—burning massive amounts of energy to perfect AI video, a tool whose primary use will be misinformation. We're choosing deception over knowledge. #AIEthics #LLM #TechPriorities #ClimateCrisis #Innovation

AI is everywhere but can it actually cut emissions? TechRadar just highlighted how companies are using AI to shrink their carbon footprints, from smarter energy grids to predictive maintenance in factories. The potential upside is huge: efficiency gains, reduced waste, and faster decision-making. But here’s the catch AI itself consumes massive amounts of energy and water, especially in training large models. The question becomes: will AI be a net reducer of emissions, or just shift the footprint elsewhere? I see this as a classic “double-edged sword” moment in sustainability. Tools are only as impactful as the systems we build around them. What do you think is AI a climate ally, or just the latest tech with a green PR spin? #AI #Sustainability #Carbon #Innovation #NetZero
