ChatGPT just became a shopping platform. And if you're in ecommerce, this changes everything. OpenAI rolled out Instant Checkout this week. Now users can browse, discover, and buy products without ever leaving ChatGPT. No redirects. No switching tabs. No friction. Right now, it's live for Etsy sellers and rolling out to over a million Shopify merchants including Glossier, Skims, and Spanx. Here's why this matters for your business: Search behavior is shifting. People aren't just typing product names anymore. They're having conversations. "I need a gift for my sister who loves minimalist jewelry and sustainable brands." "What's the best standing desk for someone with back pain under 500 dollars." These aren't search queries. They're conversations. And ChatGPT is designed to handle exactly this. The platform has hundreds of millions of users who are already asking for product recommendations. Now they can complete the purchase in the same place. This is what agentic commerce looks like. AI doesn't just recommend. It facilitates the entire buying journey. For merchants, the opportunity is clear: Your products need to be where these conversations are happening. Because if someone asks ChatGPT for recommendations and your competitor shows up with Instant Checkout enabled, you just lost that sale. OpenAI built this with Stripe and open-sourced the Agentic Commerce Protocol. That means businesses can start building integrations now. The brands that move fast here will have first-mover advantage in a completely new commerce channel. Think about it. Amazon dominated because they owned search and checkout. Google dominated because they owned discovery. Now AI platforms are positioning to own the conversation, discovery, and transaction all in one place. This isn't replacing traditional ecommerce. But it is adding a new layer to how people shop online. And the question every brand needs to ask is: Are you going to be part of this shift or watch it happen? The integration is already live. The users are already there. The buying behavior is already changing. What's your move? #Chatgpt #AIshopping #AIinshopping #Kramate

💡 Who Should Be Afraid of AI? This was the question I explored in my recent presentation — looking at how AI is transforming marketing, creativity, and strategic leadership. AI is not our rival — it’s our new strategic partner. The real challenge lies in how we use it: - Dependent thinkers rely on AI to decide for them, risking the loss of creativity and initiative. - Independent thinkers use AI as a catalyst — enhancing their insights while keeping human judgment in the driver’s seat. Two case studies clearly illustrate where this future is heading: 🛍 ChatGPT x Stripe x Etsy – With Instant Checkout, users can now browse and buy products directly within ChatGPT. The next step? Millions of Shopify stores joining this ecosystem — signaling how AI will merge content, commerce, and conversation. 💳 PayPal’s AI transformation – Using predictive analytics and adaptive algorithms, PayPal reduces fraud while improving customer experience in real time — a great example of balancing automation and trust. https://lnkd.in/d3yrFepR AI is already reshaping marketing — but success will belong to those who keep strategy, empathy, and creativity at the center. So, who should be afraid of AI? 👉 In my view — everyone who stops learning. The only way to stay relevant is to keep up the pace. My appreciation goes to Ákos Csermely, the inspiring mind and driving force behind Internet Hungary, thank you for the invitation and for creating a platform where ideas truly connect people! #AI #MarketingLeadership #Innovation #DigitalTransformation #Creativity #ChatGPT #PayPal #Stripe #InternetHungary

💡 OpenAI just introduced a new feature: “𝗕𝘂𝘆 𝗶𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝘁𝗚𝗣𝗧” also called Instant Checkout. For the first time, users can complete a purchase directly inside ChatGPT, without being redirected to a website. ✅ At launch, it works for U.S. Etsy sellers ✅ Payments are powered securely through Stripe ✅ Merchants pay a small transaction fee ✅ No ads or paid placement, product ranking is based on relevance Right now, it supports single-item purchases, but integrations with Shopify and more merchants are coming soon. This is more than just a checkout update, it’s the beginning of #AgenticCommerce: where #AI can help us discover products and instantly act on intent. Imagine asking #ChatGPT for the perfect gift, and buying it right there in the chat. That’s where #OnlineShopping is heading. 🤔 𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘥𝘰 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘬 - 𝘪𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘧𝘶𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘦𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘦𝘳𝘤𝘦, 𝘰𝘳 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘶𝘴𝘦𝘳𝘴 𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘧𝘦𝘳 𝘣𝘳𝘰𝘸𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘥𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘦𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘴?

Something massive just happened in September 2025, and I'm certain 90% of ecommerce businesses are completely miss it. ChatGPT isn't just recommending products anymore. Customers are now completing full purchases — browsing, comparing, and checking out — without ever leaving the conversation. Etsy went live first. Millions of transactions already happening in-chat. Shopify is rolling out now. If you're running a Shopify store, your products could be shoppable through ChatGPT within 60 days. Walmart just confirmed they're next. Launch: Q1 2026. Here's what nobody's talking about: This isn't a new "channel" to manage. This is a fundamental shift in how product discovery works online. For 25 years, ecommerce has been about SEARCH. Type keywords, browse results, click links. AI commerce is CONVERSATIONAL. Customers describe what they need. AI asks questions, suggests options, completes the purchase. All in natural language. Your competitors are confused. They're waiting to see what happens. That's your window. The merchants who optimize their product data for AI discovery right now — clean titles, detailed descriptions, structured metadata — will dominate this channel before most businesses even understand what's happening. I've watched platform shifts play out over and over. The pattern is always the same: early movers win. 💡 Want the exact 60-day action plan I'm giving my clients? DM me "AI READY" and I'll send you our complete AI Commerce Readiness Checklist — including the product data audit template Shopify merchants are using to prepare. #ChatGPT #AIIntegration #Shopify #Ecommerce #AICommerce

Everyone’s talking about buying in ChatGPT. Few are asking what it means for Google. For more than a decade, Google Shopping has been the bridge between intent and transaction. That bridge is showing cracks as Amazon scaled back its ad presence in mid-2025, reducing competition across key retail categories and signaling a broader shift in how discovery happens. The rollout of ChatGPT’s in-chat checkout is still in its early stages, limited to single-item purchases and select merchants, but the direction is clear. As AI agents begin to handle more of the shopping journey, the question isn’t just how consumers will buy. The real question is who controls the path to purchase once it no longer runs through search. https://lnkd.in/geiFQwtB

Buying inside ChatGPT is now live. 🛍️ OpenAI's Instant Checkout just launched, and users can now buy products inside ChatGPT conversations with Shop Pay. 📦 It’s Etsy-only for now, but the Shopify migration is next, and if you're not optimized, you’ll miss sales you never saw coming. So how do you make your products discoverable by ChatGPT? Here are 5 ways: 1. Use natural language in titles and descriptions: write the way customers ask (e.g. “best protein for runners”) 2. Optimize for intent, not keywords: ChatGPT surfaces matches based on conversation context 3. Simplify the product setup: AI prefers single-item, standalone SKUs 4. Check your Shop App visibility: it’s likely powering early ChatGPT listings 5. Keep pricing & inventory clean: AI won’t recommend what it can’t sell clearly This isn’t about gaming a new algorithm. It’s about understanding how AI thinks, and building your store to win the next generation of commerce. 👉 Full breakdown in our latest blog: ✔️ How ChatGPT product ranking works ✔️ What Shopify sellers can do right now ✔️ How Zipify helps you stay conversion-ready in the AI era ✔️ What this means for the world of upselling https://hubs.la/Q03N80Dm0 #upsell #business #chatgpt #ai #openai #ecommerce #shopify

🛍️ ChatGPT just became a shopping platform. OpenAI’s new “Buy it in ChatGPT” feature lets users purchase products directly in chat — starting with Etsy sellers, and soon over a million Shopify merchants. This is the start of agentic commerce — where AI doesn’t just recommend, it can transact on your behalf. Built on the new Agentic Commerce Protocol (with Stripe), this move could reshape how discovery, intent, and checkout merge into one seamless flow. The future of ecommerce might not live on websites or apps — it might happen right inside your chat. #AI #Ecommerce #OpenAI #ConversationalCommerce #Innovation #Shopify

🚀 Shopify Soars to New 52-Week High After ChatGPT’s Game-Changing “Instant Checkout” Launch Shopify shares surged 6.32% to a new 52-week high of $160.96 on October 4, 2025, following OpenAI’s announcement of ChatGPT’s Instant Checkout feature — a breakthrough that lets users shop and pay directly within ChatGPT. This new capability enables 700M weekly ChatGPT users to discover and purchase products without leaving the chat interface, starting with Etsy sellers and soon expanding to over one million Shopify merchants, including brands like Glossier, Skims, Spanx, and Vuori. 💡 Market Reaction: TD Cowen raised its price target to $156, citing Shopify’s strong AI positioning and 42% growth in European GMV. Rothschild Redburn boosted its target to $200, maintaining a Buy rating and increasing 2025–27 earnings estimates by 6–8%. 🧠 The Bigger Picture: The Instant Checkout feature is powered by OpenAI’s Agentic Commerce Protocol, built with Stripe, marking a fundamental shift in e-commerce. Shoppers can now move from conversation to conversion — seamlessly. > “Our vision for ChatGPT is that it not only delivers information but helps users accomplish real-world tasks,” said Michelle Fradin, OpenAI’s lead for ChatGPT Commerce. With a $206B market cap and 104% one-year return, Shopify’s AI integration places it firmly at the forefront of agentic AI-driven commerce — where AI doesn’t just recommend products… it completes the sale. #Shopify #OpenAI #ChatGPT #Ecommerce #AI #Innovation #RetailTech #AgenticAI

OpenAI recently released Instant Checkout, a new feature that allows users to buy products directly inside ChatGPT without ever leaving the chat. Pretty wild. Here’s how it works: A user might ask, “What’s a good driver headcover for a 60-year-old under $100?” ChatGPT searches the web and recommends products with prices, links and images. When the user clicks on a product, they now see a “Buy” button and can complete the purchase directly within ChatGPT using Apple Pay, Google Pay, Stripe or a credit card. And their order information is stored by navigating to Settings → Orders inside of ChatGPT. It’s worth noting that all customer data belongs to the merchant/brand. They are the seller of record and get to keep all of the data. As they should. OpenAI kept this super subtle in their help articles, but merchants do pay a “small fee” for all successful transactions. Keep that in mind. I’m not entirely sure how much this fee is, but will update as soon as ChatGPT announces this publicly. Etsy is already integrated, and Shopify’s integration is coming very soon (I hope). If you’re an e-comm brand, I highly recommend that you sign up to be notified when it goes live here: shopify.com/chatgpt. This is going to take time, but as shoppers become more comfortable buying products through AI chats, we could see a decline in reliance on traditional Google searches. Also, ChatGPT is rumored to be building an ad platform! Not surprised given all of the money they need to fund everything they’re doing, but I’m going to be keeping a very close eye on this because it seems like an inevitable next step. Here is how I’m looking at this from a performance marketing perspective for our e-comm clients: #1 - Instant Checkout may reduce dependency on Google Search and Shopping ads. #2 - Smaller brands that adopt this early could gain visibility before larger competitors adjust. Hope this helps you! #ecommerce #ai #openai #chatgpt #shopping #google #advertising

I just watched ChatGPT turn into a shopping mall. And honestly? I'm not sure how to feel about it. OpenAI just announced Instant Checkout. You can now buy from Etsy sellers directly through ChatGPT. Soon, over a million Shopify stores (think Glossier, Skims, Spanx) will be there too. Let that sink in for a second. The platform we use to write emails and debug code is now... selling us stuff. Here's what's wild about this: ChatGPT has 700 million weekly users. That's not a typo. 700 MILLION people are already there, asking questions, looking for recommendations, and now? Clicking "buy." No redirects. No "open in new tab." Just instant purchase. I've been in digital marketing for years, and I've seen platforms come and go. But this feels different. Amazon took decades to build trust as THE place to shop online. Google became synonymous with search. And ChatGPT? It's speedrunning both in less than 3 years. The analyst Zak Stambor said it could "challenge Amazon and Google." I think he's underselling it. Here's my take: If you're an e-commerce brand and you're not thinking about AI-native commerce right now, you're already behind. This isn't some future trend. It's happening TODAY. The scary part? We're still in the single-item purchase phase. They're working on multi-item carts next. Imagine a customer asking: "What's the best skincare routine for dry skin?" ChatGPT recommends products. Customer adds them to cart. Checks out. All without leaving the chat. That's not sci-fi. That's next quarter. So here's my question for you: Is your brand ready to be discovered, recommended, and purchased by AI? Because ready or not, the game just changed. Drop a comment below - are you excited or terrified about this shift? I'm somewhere in between. 👇 Follow Shristi Mishra for more insights! #Amazon #Chatgpt #AIinshopping #Nomarketing

Shopify recently stepped into ChatGPT. We just took it everywhere else your customers actually shop. We’ve launched our Shopify AI integration and the response has been staggering. Imagine giving local businesses an AI receptionist that answers live product questions on phone calls using real-time inventory, offers personalized buying advice on WhatsApp, builds carts and pushes checkout links in real time. Built on Anthropic’s MCP, Vendasta's new Shopify connector turns AI into a frontline sales team: Instead of sending customers away from their conversation with you, we put full store intelligence directly into every touchpoint. ✅ Phone. ✅ SMS ✅ WhatsApp ✅ Web chat And the timing is perfect. 98% of business leaders say poor customer experience impacts revenue and 94% of organizations are already using AI in marketing. We're building for the 3 billion people on WhatsApp, the millions calling your clients daily, and every SMS thread that could close a sale. At Vendasta, we work to meet customers where they already are, not where some think they should be. Check it out in the link in comments. #ConversationalCommerce #Shopify #AI #Anthropic #Ecommerce
