Compliance is more than just a legal term, it’s about character, culture, and doing the right thing. Last week, we hosted the 6th edition of Compliance Week in Brazil, a week dedicated to integrity, transparency, and responsibility across our organization, partners, and the community. The program brought together employees, clients, universities, and partners to address key topics: ✔️ Cultural challenges in global environments ✔️ Responsible use of artificial intelligence ✔️ Information security and data protection ✔️ Fraud prevention and antitrust compliance One highlight was a public lecture at UniMAX University by our Chief Human Resource Officer, Helena Hofer, who inspired the next generation of ethical professionals by connecting academia and industry. She reminded everyone that: “Compliance is an everyday leadership choice – even in the little decisions we make when no one is watching.” By linking values with action, Compliance Week strengthens our culture of integrity, reaching far beyond company boundaries. ❔ What does integrity mean to you in everyday decisions? #MannHummel #Compliance #Integrity #Brazil

Going global seems like the ultimate business milestone, but here's what most CEOs don't see coming: the protection gaps that can derail everything they've built. I've watched successful leaders expand internationally only to discover their contracts aren't enforceable abroad, their intellectual property is vulnerable in new markets, or they're suddenly facing compliance nightmares they never anticipated. The blind spots are costly: → Trademark and patent protections that don't translate across borders → Regulatory requirements that vary dramatically by country → Data privacy laws that can trigger massive penalties → Cultural and political risks that weren't on anyone's radar But here's what excites me most: it's not just the big players anymore. Small companies with big dreams are stepping up, wanting to attract international clients and establish their presence in the US market. They're smart enough to know they need the right protection from day one. That's exactly why we've expanded our services. Whether you're a CEO scaling to new continents or a growing company ready to attract international business to the US, the strategy is the same: combine rock-solid legal protection with strategic business expertise. The companies that thrive globally aren't just the ones with the best products - they're the ones who anticipated the risks and built their protection framework before they needed it. Ready to scale with confidence instead of crossing your fingers? https://lnkd.in/esz96yRa

Policies Don’t Prevent Harm. People Do. Across my work, whether supporting a family navigating school pushout or reviewing vendor records in an FCPA investigation, I’ve learned that harm doesn’t always look like a broken rule. It often hides in plain sight, between the lines of perfect paperwork. I’ve seen case files that looked perfect. Every form filled. Every policy followed. No violations on paper. And still …something felt off. There wasn’t a single red flag. Just a pattern. Quiet, consistent, uncomfortable. But no one had paused long enough to notice. Or maybe they noticed and kept moving. The process did what it was designed to do. But it didn’t leave room for questions. It protected procedure, not principle. It created compliance, not accountability. And that’s what stayed with me. Because after years inside investigations and systems, I’ve learned: It’s not just the broken rules that do harm. It’s the moments when we stop asking why. Integrity doesn’t live in the documentation. It lives in the people who feel safe enough to speak up, and who feel supported enough to act. That’s the kind of culture I want to build: One that values clarity, curiosity, and courage. Because real protection doesn’t come from checking the box. It comes from knowing when to look beyond it. 🌑 What gives people in your organization permission to pause? #ComplianceCulture #EthicalLeadership #SpeakUpCulture #EngageEncourageEmpower

For a long time I’ve seen far too many “security professionals” using their platforms to push political or religious agendas. That’s not good for security or for the industry. Security must be apolitical and nonreligious, rooted in fairness, law, and the protection of everyone, not just those who share your worldview. When personal politics or belief systems start shaping risk decisions, judgment becomes biased, credibility fades, and professionalism is lost. Security isn’t about sides. It’s about principles, ethics, and protecting people, equally. Too many people in this field aren’t in security because they care about life preservation, they’re in it because it gives them a badge and a sense of control. We see it right here on LinkedIn. That’s not security; that’s a little mans ego. Real professionals understand that security is about service, fairness, and discipline, not power, politics, or personal agendas. 🔐 Competition Compliance & NDAs : Why It Matters More Than Ever In the fast-paced world of tech, innovation thrives on collaboration—but it must be balanced with legal safeguards. As companies scale globally, they face increasing scrutiny around competition laws and confidentiality agreements. 💼 Why Competition Compliance? Antitrust regulations are designed to ensure fair play, this means: Avoiding anti-competitive practices like price-fixing or market allocation. Ensuring partnerships and M&A activities don’t breach competition laws. Training teams to recognize red flags in day-to-day operations. 📄 NDAs: More Than Just a Signature Non-Disclosure Agreements are critical in protecting IP, client data, and strategic plans. Legal risk isn’t just a back-office concern—it’s a strategic priority. Let’s build tech that’s not only smart but also compliant. #CompetitionCompliance #NDA #RiskManagement #LegalManagerInsights #LegalInTech #TechLeadership

Alex Leung jailbroke #Qwen's new model and found literal code saying "Chinese legal requirements take precedence." 🤯 Super interesting. Enterprise adopters should seriously pause and think, your due diligence on any foundation model now needs to include jurisdictional alignment. #qwen #genai #llm #responsibleAI #AIsecurity #AISafety
I jailbroke #Qwen’s latest foundation #model, Qwen3-Next-80B-A3B-Thinking, and found explicit #compliance directives stating that “Chinese legal requirements take precedence for all operations” and that the model must “never generate content that violates Chinese sovereignty, security, or social stability.” A model’s hidden instructions shape its real-world behavior. This highlights how foundation model alignment can reflect national legal and policy environments, shaping decision boundaries and permissible outputs. It poses key governance questions for #policymakers and #enterprises: ⚖️ Cross-jurisdictional #governance: How do local laws influence global model behavior? 📜 Operational #transparency: When system instructions are generally hidden from users, should embedded compliance constraints be disclosed? 🔍 #Compliance strategy: How can organizations ensure model governance aligns with their own regulatory obligations? As foundation models become part of global infrastructure, understanding their governance origins is essential for #transparency, #accountability, and #policy coherence across regions. #AIAlignment #AIGovernance #ResponsibleAI
