Thank you Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency and congratulations Lawrence Tallon. HealthAI - The Global Agency for Responsible AI in Health is proud to be a member of this new national commission, collaborating for the benefit of all patients, in the UK and beyond.
great initiative by the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency !
📣 A regulatory framework for AI in healthcare must be grounded in ethics and equity ⚖️ as much as in technical rigour. Engaging diverse patients as advisory partners, from the outset - is vital to build trust, inclusivity and belief in AI’s capacity to deliver for all of us 👥 Only through rigorous and patient-centred regulation - can innovation be safely translated and build patient and community confidence, that in this fast-paced evolution of our NHS, the infrastructure will keep us safe.
really great initiative and exactly what is needed to develop healthcare ai with trust and safety as core priorities!
Congratulations Lawrence Tallon !!! Amazing step forward!
Impressive work, MHRA this Commission has the potential to unlock so much innovation that’s been stuck in limbo due to regulatory uncertainty

1mo"The UK National Commission...will bring in experts from big tech companies – like Google and Microsoft". Also hoping that the many expert small and medium enterprises actually delivering AI to the front line will be part of this. Even the health teams of big tech companies rarely get involved in delivery of the many AI products that are actually medical devices.
