Day 27 — Building a Home Automation Server (It’s Way Harder Than I Thought 😭) Good evening guys — it’s the end of Day 27, and today was intense. I worked a lot on the home automation server project I’ve been telling you about — and honestly, it’s way harder than I imagined. 😅 At first, I thought it would be like putting together Lego blocks — simple and modular — but in reality, it’s so much more complex. Now I’m learning n8n, while also being part of a data science cohort, plus juggling university assignments. It’s getting tough to manage everything together. One of the biggest challenges is ensuring cross-platform compatibility — making sure the system runs smoothly across different operating systems. Sure, Linux can handle most of that using Docker, but automating the API integration part is a different beast. I want to make it so simple that even non-technical users can use it without touching any API keys or complex configurations. That’s the goal — to make automation truly accessible. This is definitely going to take months, but I’m determined to complete it before Day 100, Inshallah. Let’s see how it goes. Thank you so much for tuning in — see you tomorrow! 🙌 #Day27 #Automation #HomeAutomation #Python #n8n #APIAutomation #Docker #CodingJourney #DeveloperLife #LearningInPublic #DataScience #DevOps #BuildInPublic #Programming

Vibe coding isn't a trend. What if we lean into making code "worthless"? If code is easy to generate, we can focus on solving the right problems. This starts with choosing the right workflow platform. In this episode of Data and Confused, Ruben Fiszel explains how his company, Windmill, is more than just an automation tool. It's programming 2.0. Watch the full episode: https://lnkd.in/gxvEV6SB Here are some of the topics we covered: 💎 Modular - In an age where projects can be spun up and killed quickly, having modular, reusable components means your work has value even when directions change. 🔧 Multilingual. Use Python, Rust, PowerShell, or whatever fits the job. No more forcing everything into one framework's worldview. ⚡ Fast - Written in Rust with performance as a core principle. Fast enough to serve as synchronous API endpoints, not just background jobs. 🔐 Zero-trust - Nothing is open by default. Jobs inherit your permissions, and secrets are scoped properly from the start. If you're building security automations, data pipelines, or any workflow that needs both flexibility and reliability, check out this conversation. #WorkflowOrchestration #AI #Automation #OpenSource #CyberSecurity #DevOps #DataAndConfused

5 Essential MCP Servers Every Developer Should Know I've been experimenting with Model Context Protocol servers for a few months now, and I have to say, they've changed the way I work. If you're not familiar with MCP, think of it as a universal adapter that lets your AI coding assistant actually do things—access your files, push to GitHub, search the web, whatever you need. It's like giving your AI a set of hands instead of just a voice. The thing is, there are hundreds of MCP servers out there now, and it's easy to get lost in the noise. So I wanted to share the five that have actually made a difference in my daily workflow. These aren't just cool demos. They're tools I reach for without thinking about it anymore. Let me start with the one that surprised me the most. Artiforge isn't just another MCP server—it's more like a complete AI development toolkit that happens to work through MCP. I stumbled across it when I was frustrated with context switching between my IDE and various AI tools, and it ended up solving problems I didn't even https://lnkd.in/gs4k8BY8

Why put your dotfiles on GitHub? ✅ Dotfiles are configuration files that store your development environment settings like .config files. 🚀 Beyond standard dev tools, dotfiles can also be extended to manage AI agent configurations, helping you organize, version-control, and reproduce your setup anywhere while keeping everything consistent. 📌 Check out the full post for a practical guide and step-by-step instructions. Rust is known for many things, but not its conciseness. Ahead of today's Rust meetup at the Svix office, we wrote about a small trick we used to make our tests more concise. https://lnkd.in/dh-Di_HT

Day 16 of my #100DaysOfLeetCode challenge ✅ Today’s problem looked simple at first, but my initial solution was painfully slow — nested loops everywhere 😅. After spending some time debugging, I realized I could optimize it using prefix & suffix multiplication arrays. Performance went from O(n²) → O(n). The aha moment? Debugging isn’t just about fixing errors — it’s about understanding the problem deeply and spotting patterns. Step-by-step reasoning turned a “stuck” moment into a learning win. 💡 Tip: Always break your problems (or workflows) into smaller parts first. Debug or test each part individually — it saves headaches later. How do you approach tricky problems in your day-to-day work? I’d love to hear your tips! #LeetCode #Automation #DeveloperJourney #ProgrammingTips #100DaysOfCode
