🔔Compliance isn’t earned in the audit room, it’s revealed in the everyday decisions your people make when no one is watching. Too often, organizations celebrate passing an audit like they’ve crossed the finish line. But maturity isn’t about getting a certificate, it’s about what happens in the small moments: * When a project deadline tempts someone to bypass a control. * When a vendor pushes back on requirements. * When a shortcut feels easier than following the process. That’s where the real measure of compliance maturity shows up. The companies that thrive aren’t the ones that know how to build policies. They’re the ones that build cultures where compliance is second nature. 👇 In my latest article, I explore why culture decides whether compliance protects or collapses.

So fascinating how the smaller seemingly insignificant moments make a big difference when it comes to values around compliance. Very insightful Monique!

Reading this while in the middle of a SOC2 audit is interesting. At 6AM this morning, I found myself explaining to an enabling team member "I need this task for evidence of new audit controls" and it felt frustrating. We are currently mature adjacent... if our audit team went away, the foundation crumbles.

Absolutely right, Monique. Those micro-moments reveal whether your verification infrastructure actually works or just looks good on paper. Culture beats documentation every time.
