This week, the The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine, in collaboration with the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS), are proud to host the second Precision Medicine Workshop at the National Academy of Sciences building in Washington, D.C. This joint workshop series seeks to promote knowledge exchange and collaboration between Kuwait and the United States on advancements in precision medicine. Building on the first workshop held in Kuwait earlier this year, which explored innovations in point-of-care technologies, artificial intelligence, and chronic disease management, the second workshop expands the dialogue on new frontiers in translational precision medicine. Day 1 Highlights: Attendees heard opening remarks from Dr. Fawaz Haj, Dr. Salman AlSabah, Dr. Abrar Almoosa, Ph.D., PMI-PMP, Her Excellency Sheikha Al-Zain Al-Sabah, Ambassador of the State of Kuwait to the United States, and National Academies leadership, Dr. Vaughan Turekian, Dr. Dalal Najib. Featured sessions included: 🔸 The Evolving Role of Genetic Counselors in Translational Precision Medicine 🔸 Shaping the Future of Global Healthcare through Genome and Exposome Integration 🔸 Navigating Policy and Regulatory Pathways to Advance Global Collaboration The day concluded with two roundtable discussions: “Unlocking the Future of Precision Medicine Through Data Sharing” and “Translating Genome–Exposome Research into Clinical Impact.” We look forward to Day 2 of this collaborative workshop, and extend our sincere appreciation to KFAS and our workshop committee members for their visionary leadership and partnership in organizing this collaborative series.
