How do digital transformation and sustainable innovation intersect in Africa? Field research in Senegal examines how the country is advancing its “twin transition” — utilising digital tools and green innovation to enhance resilience in sectors such as water management and food security. Through the Digital and Innovation Action (DGI), innovators, investors, ESOs, policymakers, and local partners are joining forces to unlock inclusive, tech-driven growth. Insights from over 35 Senegalese stakeholders highlight substantial progress in areas such as solar energy and precision agriculture — and the importance of supportive policies and thriving local ecosystems to scale impact. The study highlights water management and food security as emerging areas for collaboration among Senegalese, Dutch, and European partners, combining local knowledge with international expertise to drive climate adaptation, digitalisation, and inclusive growth. Conducted under Team Europe’s #GlobalGateway, the research was carried out on behalf of the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Ministerie van Buitenlandse Zaken) and the European Union, and executed by the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (Rijksdienst voor Ondernemend Nederland (RVO)). 👉 Read the full story: https://buff.ly/PCY7ICQ #TwinTransition #GreenInnovation #DigitalTransformation #TeamEurope #Africa #ClimateAdaptation #RVO #DGI
