Scan of the Week: Vasospasm Detection in a Patient with Severe Traumatic Brain Injury A 79-year-old female with a traumatic brain injury (Stage 3 TBI, GCS 4 on site) presented with subdural hematoma, temporal parenchymal hematoma, and diffuse subarachnoid bleeding. The patient was sedated and intubated, which made neurological assessment challenging. Using the NG2 Intelligent Ultrasound, the care team performed daily cerebral monitoring to assess for vasospasm. After five days of stable readings, Day 12 revealed new vasospasm when clinical evaluation was not possible (GCS 3). This early detection enabled timely intervention and prevented further deterioration. See how NG2 provides real-time insight when neurological exams aren’t possible: https://lnkd.in/diU-H5TT #scanoftheweek #tbi #neurosurgery #criticalcare #stroke #brainhealth #patientsafety #tcd #medtech
